there were scattered bands of wichita, lots of tribes lived in this area because of the rich resources of not only the arkansas river, but the grand the other rivers down south. there was a huge political conflict in the muskogee nation. one signed a treaty saying all of the lands would be gone and they would move out west. that chief was executed. the united states, the only time they repealed a treaty, the united states did repeal that treaty, even though it had been ratified. the negotiations following that, his followers were allowed to move west to oklahoma, and they settled in the area -- towns like broken arrow started growing up there. in 1830, they set up a system where land in the east would be exchanged for an equivalent amount of land in the west. so the tribes have lands that were proportional to the lands they were giving up back. originally it was set where the cherokee would take lands north of the arkansas river and the muskogee would take lands between the arkansas and the south canadian and the choctaw and the chickasaw would take lands between the south canadian and

everywhere in that orange coloring, including wichita, oklahoma city, joplin springfield area tulsa,ding st. louis late tonight has a chance of really bad, severe weather, including isolated tornadoes. the timing of it looks like to be the peak between about 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. that's a radar image at 7:00 p.m. notice that's not a large concentration of storms but we will see scattered strong storms. i know we'll have a ton of storm chasers out there. if there's any tornadoes during the daylight hours, i'm sure we'll have pictures of them. and this is a two-day event, for the most part. and as we go into thursday that severe weather risk includes the big cities of chicago and st. louis, and that will be sweeping towards indiana late in the day and we could even see some isolated tornadoes with that too. and we've been very fortunate and lucky so far, amy. this spring we've seen very few tornadoes. other springs have been much worse, so we'll see if our luck runs out tonight. hopefully, it won't. >> all right. a little silver lining there. bill karins, thank you. we appreciate it. >>>
