wilkins near the scene in palmer park, maryland. >> reporter: a lot has unfolded since yesterday afternoon. prince george's county police are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of officer jacai colson. in the meantime, folks have been coming down here to the scene and leaving flowers in this officer's honor. prince george's county police say they believe suicide by police may have been why the suspect, who we are told is michael ford, showed up at the district three police station and opened fire. during that exchange of gunfire with police, officer jacai colson was shot and killed. now, we're also told that that suspect, two of his brothers are in custody being held in connection to what happened here yesterday. sources have confirmed that at least one of those brothers videotaped the shooting as it happened. we've been speaking with people who were mo to the scene and leave flowers in officer colson's honor. >> what can you say? it's unreal. it's truly unreal, especially where it happened at. i just feel so sorry for the family. >> reporter: prince george's county pol

bureau chief tracee wilkins is live in upper marlborough. what are you hearing about charges or anything having to do with these brothers? >> the state's attorney office just wrapped up a press conference complaining what's going on with these charges. as you said three brothers in custody. we now know that the two brothers who are considered accomplices have been charged. the brother who is considered to be the gunman in this incident has not been charged yet. now this morning, prince george's county police were back on the scene, taking a look at evidence. that included the police van that had several bullet holes in pictures released by the police yesterday. we saw that this van, is the van that the gunmen hid himself behind as he shot at police. michael ford is gunman, he's being held, but again not been charged. his two brothers were charged for helping their brother pull off this shooting and for videotaping it. the brothers are facing attempted murder charges and first-degree assault. but the state's attorney's office and police did n

prince george's county bureau chief tracee wilkins has all this new information that was released today. >> reporter: a press conference just wrapped up in front of the prince george's county courthouse where the police chief and the state's attorney provided updates on the atmosphere coofficer colson shooting. the police chief said they have evidence another officer deliberately shot officer chief had to say about that. >> i do not believe that any police officer intentionally fired at another police officer. i believe that a police officer fired at an armed individual who they perceived to be a threat to them. >> reporter: now, remember there was a lot of confusion out there in front of district 3 on sunday when the gunman, who police have identified as michael ford, showed up and started firing at the police station. now, today his two brothers who are considered accomplices, eye lee ja ford, who is 18, and malik ford, had their bond hearing. they were held without bond. coming up on news4 at 5:00, we'll explain exactly what happened inside of that courtroom, and i'll tell you this.

stand at the addison road station in capitol heights and prince george's county bureau chief tracee wilkins has been working this story all day. >> reporter: this is one of those guys who hands out the free washington post express paper as you're heading into the metro, usually very friendly, gives you the paper and you keep on going. well, this is the guy who metro police believe stand a commuter on his way into the train station. it happened just over that way. you can see there's now a metro transit police officer car there, and they are still continuing their investigation and trying to track down this paper man. here is what it looked like earlier today. now, we're told that when this happened it was very crowded, just before 9:00 a.m. here is how a metro spokesperson is describing it. >> they get into an altercation that escalates to physical and on the sidewalk behind us here the suspect tackled the victim and ended u the victim was transported to a local hospital, trapt transport critical condition but he's been upgraded to stable condition so he's expected to be okay. >> reporter:

reporting live, i'm tracee wilkins. back to you all in the studio. >> thank you, tracy. that incident is just the latest high profile case for metro. last weekend 15-year-old davonte washington was gunned down in front of his family at the deanwood metro station. a 17-year-old has been charged with his murder. back in february a man was shot during an attempted robbery on board a green line train approaching the anacostia station. patrols have also been increased to deal with the spike in assaults carried out by groups of high school teens. those assaults are among the crimes that have risen when compared to this same time in 2015. the transit system was also the scene for two murders last year, a stabbing on a red line train on july 4th and a shooting in metro garage ten days later. >>> looking at weather now, you might want to grab your umbrella. temperatures are kind of pleasant but some rain, even maybe a couple thunderstorms coming our way tomorrow. amelia segal, we're going to get wet, huh? >> you've got to vance. mainly tomorrow. you can soo they activity on storm
