they mention cripple creek that is first creek. cripple creek gets its name according to i believe i saw an article from lucy templeton many, many moons ago who said it had to do the bend in the in the creek is why called it cripple creek. it was area prone to flooding and it had flooded significantly and looking at the maps at this period of 1867 and looking at the maps trying to find vacant, the best guess i can get is where i sort of place that sort of burgundy looking baseball in a vacant area and first creek has changed its past since then since its 1867 map. but what's interesting is where that where they played it is quite possible they played on the very ground where randy boyd today is building the smokies that i guess will be the next smokies stadium that is interesting connection of knoxville's baseball past bringing it back into the urban environs it and linking it with baseball today. that was an interesting find now again, i can't say exactly there, but they say it's along the creek. so there will be possibly playing

that is some flooding that is caused from fife creek. we're told by the sheriff's office this morning that the floodwaters are rising in small creeks and streams around the area. this is currently localized flooding in the northern areas in guerneville. this water is not coming from the russian river because the river is not flooding at this time. but it is coming from the mountain and creek areas. this neighborhood impacted by the rains. we're actually just going to talk to a resident, who is going to tell her firsthand experience of what waking up this morning was like. amber hughes, you're telling us when you woke up there was water in the house. >> there was 3 inches of water in the house when i woke up. i woke up to the fire department pounding on the door to check on everyone. they told us all to stay put for now, let the water go down a little bit, and then pack out. so we're packing out right now, carrying about as much as they can carry. everything in the house is under water up high. and we're just leaving, hoping that the trai

that runoff is continuing into our creeks and streams.you want to use caution if you see that there are signs telling you, hey, you don't want to drive here, believe them because it's probably because of some of that low-lying area that's taken on water. you can see where the rain is still happening in southern california and central california. we are lightning up a bit. having said that, we do still have a little bit of an unsettled conditions out there. and you can see that as we zoom in just these light greens showing that there's some light showers still happening along the peninsula in san francisco. certainly a line rolling through the north bay right now and our rain. chances are not over for the weekend. fortunately, we have a little bit more expected as we get into the overnight tuesday into wednesday. you can see that here on our extended forecast and another shot at a few showers early saturday morning. but there are breaks there. and you know, the weekend itself looking pretty good as we get into that football sunday. back to

then where i am really concerned that we could get into some street flooding and when i think of the creekstreams and rivers will be rising very fast is right around 5:00 and 6:00 tomorrow night. we have these orange and red pockets showing up on the radar as some of the heaviest rain our forecast models can pick up on. extremely heavy downpours from 5:00 through about 10:00 tomorrow night across the bay area so that is when those totals are going to stack up in a big way. as we roll through thursday morning, we will be left with spotty areas of thunderstorms, and scattered rain throughout the day with the main part of the storm off to the south and east. what we are going to do right now is break apart the rain totals for the first part of the storm subtotals look a lot different through tomorrow, really for the bulk of the day. it is adding a peer through the north bay. we will be anywhere from 1 to 3 inches by 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night. down here into san jose it is but a quarter to half inch, then as the brunt of that storm breaks across the south bay and east bay, those numbers will ad
