good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, patrice. we have been cruising on the same rate without an increase for beck day decades. a right that some drivers say is already too high, now there's a chance it could go up even higher. lawmakers want to inease contract the liability minute mum coverage to $60,000 per injured person and $60,000 per crash. that means an incident crease of $60 on the vehicles on the eastern shore to $50 at baltimore city. it would be the first hike since 1972 and some lawmakers say it's long overdue. >> when you go into the shock trauma it's about $7,500 now to visit, every time to visit. $25,000 doesn't cut it anymore. it really protects the individual who really may be hurt. >> reporter: and also, protects the lawyers representing them. but some say, it could backfire and people who just can't afford that increase, might start driving without insurance. now the senate is expected to debate the auto insurance rate hikes tie today. governor o'malley says if it does pass, he will sign the bill. megan gillilan

i'm patrice harris. we are finally at the -- we are at the weekend finally. meteorologist steve fertig is going to tell us if we're going to enjoy the weather. >>> a little cloud cover, it should get better as the day moves along. a little sunshine peaking through and the weather will get nicer as the weekend goes by. today we will see the temperatures climb a little bit more. start at 61 degrees at the bus stop. cloud cover and could be a little bit of fog, be careful in case you're in the valley areas where there could be more of that. south wind at 5 miles per hour. temperatures not bad. 64 degrees in baltimore, 63 in hagerstown, cooler in salisbury at 54 degrees and as i said, temperatures will be climbing today as the skies begin to clear. look for temperatures to climb to about 70 at noon, and then getting up to a high temperature of 78 degrees, not bad at all at about 3 or 4:00 this afternoon and 75 degrees at 6:00 p.m. the temperatures begin to decline then. a nice weekend coming up. i will tell you more about that in a few minutes. right now let's se
