here for the hat trick, lawrence karnow. >> lots of sunshine, mild temperatures around the bay area. again today a spectacular afternoon, a go to it kind of day out the door. still chilly this morning as some of the temperatures are dipping down to the 40s and 50s giving way to plenty of sunshine and mild weather. 60s in the afternoon. this is all about to change. high pressure is weakening. we could see some rain returning to the bay area shortly. more on that in a moment. right now let's check the roads with elizabeth. >>> things are looking better through burlingame. we are following this accident southbound 101 near peninsula avenue. well, everything now chloride. we just actually took a call from don with the kcbs phone force who says everything is cleared to the shoulder. for a while a couple of right lanes were closed off but we never saw huge delays and now it's gone. at the bay bridge slight delays just in cash lanes. fastrak users still fine. metering lights remain off and mass transit is fine with more than 40 bart trains all running on time. that's traffic. back to you. >

let's check in with lawrence karnow now with more details on this windy forecast. good morning, lawrence. >> we have the fog out there now. it's very dense again. but the winds are going to be picking up. if you are headed out at this hour, visibilities less to quarter mile in many parts of the bay area. as we head through the morning that fog is going to mix out as we see some winds kicking up around the bay area. high wind warnings affect in the north and the east bay hills also into the santa cruz mountains above 1,000 feet. that's where we are expecting some of the strongest gusty winds. wind advisories down below everywhere else in the bay area. up in the mountaintops excess of 50-mile-per-hour gusts and at the highest mountains up to 70 miles per hour. that is something else. we are going to see some trees coming down likely going to see some power lines, too. temperatures a little chilly outside. 30s and 40s right now around the bay area. it looks like by the afternoon, we are planning on highs mainly in the 60s. that's a look at weather. let's check on traff
