news 6 reporter troy campbell has been getting answers about this all day and joins us now live. what led investigators to actually press charges in this case? >> well, it's been several weeks, even a month since this happened. so a lot of investigating in this case. first of all, this is the family's yard. this is where the small dog was. their surveillance camera ended up being helpful in the investigation, showing a van pulling up, putting the dog inside and driving off. after news 6 was first to tell you about this, the owner of the dog, she's getting results. grand theft. >> 38-year-old kitty rivera, arrested in seminole county on saturday, charged with grand theft for allegedly taking this female pup roxie out of her owner's yard, calling the dog over to her van, seen here in this surveillance video. we stopped by rivera's house but we first told you about this story in december after mandy england, roxie's owner was able to get the dog back. rivera said she was rescuing the dog and planned to bring it to this animal rescue. weeks later, the state attorney's office decided

troy campbell has been getting answers about this all day long. he joins us now live. what else have detectives told you about this? >> well, we spoke with the police chief. he says that initial 911 call came from the suspect's father son's behavior was odd. police then shooting and killing the man as he held an air soft gun which typically only shoots bbs while he stood outside his home. >> the 28-year-old eric provost refused officers' commands to put down his weapon on monday night. >> received a 911 call from the suspect's father. he basically said that, you know, his son was not acting right. something was wrong, that he may be injured, that possibly someone is breaking in to his apartment. he really didn't know what was happening at his son's condo. >> dispatchers then got ahold of provost on the phone, telling him officers were on their way. despite provost telling them not to come. provost did not fire back at the officers say investigators and it's unknown how many times officers shot at him, pending an investigation by the florida department of law enforcemen

in ocoee, troy campbell, local 6. >> a man accused of exchanging a judge. the gunfire erupted friday night near 1792 and airport boulevard in sanford. that' s just south of the 417. police say it started after someone called 911 saying smithfuls pointing his gun at busy street. when a sanford officer went to immediately started shooting. in the leg by a stray bullet and so were a couple at truck world. no officers were hurt. >>> the officer involved shooting and it' s caught on camera. it happened friday afternoon. danielle evans and 2 men carjacked an elderly man at curry ford and conway. the car was spotted hours later on south street and witnesses say it led to the shootout with police. they say they opened fire when evans tried to run them over. evans seen here was hit but is expected to survive. she' s been charged with armed carjacking and police say attempted murder charges will be added. the two men with evans were detained and questioned. the officers are now on administrative leave while the investigation continues. >>> this morning we' re working
