philadelphia police officer injured his knee chasing a suspect wanted in the robbery of the northeast philadelphiaawa. the just before 3:30 a.m. suspect armed with the crowbar, demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk at this store in the 8100 block of castor avenue. suspect made off with an undetermined amount have of cash, responding officers chased him for several blocks, and the suspect was eventually captured and arrested. police believe he may be tied to another robbery, of another store, earlier in the night. >>> an army staff sergeant, assigned to the pentagon is accused of killing his wife and then killing a rookie police officer in virginia. in fact, officer ashley gwenndon was on her very first day of patrol. she and two other officers were answering a domestic violence call at a town in woodbridge. officials say three two-year old ronald hamilton shot all three officers. hamilton's 29 year-old wife crystal was already dead inside the house. he she was rush to the hospital where she died a short time later. >> clearly had a passion to serve others, in a way that went beyond herself.

northeast philadelphia getting some sunshine, 33 and 35 in atlantic city. that's definitely warmer than the teens that started things off at the shore. skiers taking -- well, taking in the little bit of sun that's making it through those thin clouds over the pocono mountains. it's going to stay dry the next hour for philadelphia it stays dry all day. but these clouds are thick in central pennsylvania and producing some snow. the pocono mountains likely to see some snow showers this morning. just some light snow showers. you can see that line of snow. it looks impressive on the radar, but the snow in harrisburg and western lancaster county not even reaching the ground. cloudy skies as very dry air at the surface. so any snowflakes are evaporating before they hit the ground. different story in williamsport. more impressive getting light snow and scattered snow showers can be expected in the higher elevations of the pocono mountains. that's it. the rest of the area is going to stay dry and warm into the middle 30s for reading, allentown and quakertown. a chill

the trap was set at a catholic church in northeast philadelphia. surveillance video captures the arrest.
