josh: i'm josh mcelveen. instead as andy hershberger reps live, while the victim's family confronted peno, the defendant's a brutal crime with tragic results and today one of the men allegedly involved learned how long he will spend in prison. >> i ask you, mr. pino, for what you've done to them. reporter: the sister of the murder victim told the court how two families have been torn apart by this tragedy. markham's 2015 death. >> i do not have the word to describe to you the pain, anguish and anger my family and i have suffered since that cold dark knight that ben was attacked. the defendant had no more right to take my brother from us. reporter: prosecutors say pino and gott randomly attacked and robbed markham on a nashua bike than 20 times. >> that day will haunt me for the rest of my life. that day, i can feel my brother's pain. i knew him that well. reporter: but pino's family asked the court to think about his tough upbringing and mental issues when deciding on a sentence. >> on the fatal night that mr

josh: i'm josh mcelveen. the shooting happened yesterday on arlene drive, tonight the victim is in critical condition. andy hershberger has the details. reporter: police say the woman who was shot in the head is expected to survive, and they are now on the hunt for the man who they say pulled the trigger. arrest warrants have been issued for 42 used jason cuocolo for several charges that include first degree assault the head at a residence on arlene drive in belmont early tuesday afternoon. and then stole a car from the scene and fled. that vehicle was recovered in meredith. police say the victim was taken to lakes region general hospital and then flown to dartmouth hitchcock medical center where she's listed in critical condition. authorities say they are looking for the public's help in locating the suspect. >> i would consider this individual armed and dangerous. threat to the basic public or society in general. this was night random act. this was an act committed by a person who knew his victim. reporter:

josh: i'm josh mcelveen. we're learning more about the young victims, one of them attended a private school here in new hampshire. jean: adam sexton has the latest. reporter: court documents in vermont indicate that the driver of the truck that struck and killed these teens is now under investigation for murder. one of the teens who died has been identified janey cozy, a sophomore at kimball union academy in new hampshire. she had apparently gone home to vermont for the holiday weekend. she and four friends were in the car headed southbound on 89. police say the driver of the truck stole a police cruiser of an officer who had arrived on scene and was trying to pull the teens from their burning vehicle. he causedded a series of crashes before being captured and is now coach says she was one of a kind. >> such a great kid. there are 26 girls on our soccer team and two coaches and she's just beloved by everybody, smiling all the time, hard working, fun to be around, team oriented, just a wonderful kid. we are de

josh: and i'm josh mcelveen. the officers who dropped brian christoffels after the robbery say he said simply, i give reporter: during the arraignment we learned that no weapon was shown during the robbery, but the prosecution said the teller did feel threatened. this is a picture of brian christoffels as he robbed the td bank in manchester monday afternoon, according to police. tuesday morning christoffels was arraigned on a sin el count of robbery. he was arrested after a photo was circulated and police learned that the suspect iet have fled in a car. police set up a roadblock at when police approached christoffels he allegedly said i give up. in court the prosecution talked about what happened during the robbery. >> apparently he passed a note to a teller at td bank, ultimately made with about $600 in cash. reporter: the prosecution see christoffels has a limited criminal history, his last convict backs in 2002. still noting the seriousness of the charge they asked for $15,000 cash or surety bail, which the ju

josh: i'm josh mcelveen. we're learning that in september the gate city recorded the highest number of monthly deaths so far in year. jean: amy coveno is arrive at american medical response in nashua where october is off to a deadly start as well. reporter: good evening, you guys. it is october 3rd and already nashua has recorded three overdose deaths. we started o were at the manchester fire department, and we saw two men walk into the safe station and get help immediately. then these numbers came out from a.m. exprvment we said we cannot ignore this. in september they responded to 19 overdose calls, seven of those were fatal. the chief is on the opioid task force here in nashua along with the mayor, the police chief and in manchester here in nashua, fire houses, but says they can't until they have the other critical pieces in place, like a recovery center and specially trained counselors who can arrive on a moment's notice around the clock, and start the process of recovery with a person. >> we don't have t

josh: thanks. new details about a private school student here in new hampshire who was one of five teenagers killed in a crash in vermont. investigators are now considering murder charges against a man behind the wheel of the truck they say caused the crash. adam sexton is live with the story. reporter: one of the teens killed in this horrific crash attended kimball union academy in meredith. 15-year-old janey cozy was a sophomore at the private boarding school, administrators say she had gone home for the long holiday weekend. investigators say she was out% friends and they were all in a car headed southbound on 89 that was struck by a wrong way driver. jamie -- janey's soccer coach says her loss is already being felt on campus. >> it's tragic for the community, it's tragic for the family. it's mostly tragic for jamie and we hope we can honor her memory going forward. reporter: the driver of the truck that hit the teen's car is in critical condition but he could be facing five murder charges if he

i'm josh mcelvin. while the officer's names haven't been released we are learning more about the alleged shooter and what preceded the gunfire. ray brewer is live in the studio with those details. ray: the two officers that were wounded are now out of surgery, and according to officials while the officers remain in critical condition the surgery is said to have gone well. it began just before eleven last night. the two officers responding to a domestic call in east boston, on gladstone street. reports of two roommates having a fight. once inside police say they found this man 33-year-old kirk figueroa. police say figueroa was armed with an assault rifle and wearing body armor. and began to open fire injuring the officers. other officers responded and according to the police commissioner they dragged the officers out of the line of fire. figueroa was subsequently killed in a shootout. >> i asked the public to pray for them. all the officers exhibited extreme courage. ray: again while the officers names

" when we renovated the last time 10 years ago, one of the times we didn't do is renovate the north endzone, 30 years ago we last made improvements. we knew we had to do something eventually.and it became the right time. we just want to make sure we take a great college football venue and keep it up to date " the project will also replace turf. that will happen before the start of next season. 2017 season and the entire project should be done before the 2019 football season. and the whole project will cost about 90 million dollars. the hawkeyes will pay for it through fundraising
