. >>> on the phone with us here on american history tv is lynn smith who is an audio visual archivist at the herbert presidential library. you made an interesting discovery while working with home movies. what did you find? >> well, it was an interesting thing i was working on evaluating the films measuring for shrinkage and all of that. i noticed some of these black and white film had lines on each frame. i pulled it out to make sure i wasn't seeing spots as it were. as the etch code indicated they curcolor. which to me you would see image of color in the frames. they weren't. i looked for dates indicated they were early '30s, late '20s. i did research and discovered that this was an early precursor to koto chromophilm. the design of the films, the mechanics, the lines i was looking at were little tiny lenses that would trap the color when film through a camera with a filter developed and then reprojected through the same filter on a projector. and that's where the color was seen. but from the naked eye it looked like a black and white film with odd stripes. >> how hard was it to get

we have a jetblue plane here behind us. we asked the duty manager here at the airport if in fact that was the plane that was involved in last night's incident and it's got clear if this is the plane that was forced to land here at sfo after about midnight last night. that, after making an unscheduled landing in michigan. jetblue flight 915 was scheduled to fly from jfk to san francisco, but about an hour into the flight, crew members and passengers saw smoke coming from an overhead bin. apparently a battery or charger for a laptop computer was smoldering. the crew decided to reroute and land in grand rapids, just to make sure everything was okay. the official twitter feed from the airport in grand rapids confirms their fire crews responded to a lithium fire on board but the fire had been put out. some passengers who spoke with ktvu earlier this morning say they smelled smoke and saw thatburned backpack. >> i'm not exactly sure what it was. i know it was a backpack and it was --[inaudible]-- and it was not on. i believe it wa
