pastor anthony jenkins of taylor memorial united methodist church is excited to announce this afternoonhis church can take an up to 250 kids a day. the church will also outline specific plans to help oakland families so parents don't have to miss work during the teachers' strike if there is one. the church will also provide free lunches to students. >>> the oakland unified school district also is looking for replacement teachers so it can keep oakland schools open in case there is a teachers' strike. the district placed ads seeking emergency temporary teachers. candidates have to have at least a bachelors degree. the pay is $300 a day. that is more than double the current $113 daily rate for substitute teachers. >>> there is an effort underway in san mateo county to change the pay policy for the sheriff's department. protesters and other supposed tasers showed up at the san mateo county hall of justice last night. four people died last year after being tased by law enforcement in the san mateo county. those events have led to a call for more transparency surrounding the use of tasers. s
