joining us now from uvalde, texas is msnbc's yasmin vossoughian. but yasmin, after today's jaw-dropping admission of failure by officials, how are people reacting their involved? >> angry. frustrated. that. i think no matter what comes out of this place, local police department, federal agents as well, any one telling us that -- accountability, admissions of fault, admission that they should have gone in earlier, whatever comes after today, it won't matter. because leading up to today, there have been so many missteps in the details that they have provided, and they're now learning about this essential one hour, really, and 20 minute cap from the time at which this shooter entered that school behind me. to the time to which he was neutralized. there were students inside that we're live in those classrooms, repeatedly making those phone calls, jonathan, and she walked through it. 12:03 was the first call that came in. there were subsequent calls following that. 12:10, 12:16, there were students calling 9-1-1. the first gunman call, jonathan, came in

i want to bring in yasmin vossoughian and investigations correspondent tom winter.t news conference. tell us what stood out to you. >> reporter: so much stood out to me. i think -- so a couple. questions that i asked i think were kind of the major standouts and that is this discrepancy as to how long it took from when the 911 calls came in to when the shooter was neutralized around 12:50. 11:30 is when that first 911 call came in. we were talking an hour and 20 minutes when the first call came in, the crash outside the school and the shooter was neutralized, an hour and 20 minutes later. room 112, another 911 call comes in from a teacher whispering saying there are eight to nine children alive inside the classroom. there is an active shooter inside this classroom. they are following 911 calls after that, 12:10, 12:21 n the shooter was subsequently neutralized. you think about if you are a parent in this scenario who lost a child, you cannot help but wonder, a, did that teacher survive that made the 911 call at 12:03. i asked that question at the press conference. i
