let's get the latest now from nbc's allie raffa at the white house where the biden administration hasmorning after the supreme court late friday granted emergency request from the biden administration and one of the drugmakers to block a lower texas court decision to remove fda approval of the drug after two decades. the texas ruling would have taken the pill off the market, but for now, mifepristone remains available to women in person or by mail for use until ten weeks into the pregnancies. president biden celebrating the decision, but acknowledging the case is not over. vowing to quote continue the fight in the courts. now because the supreme court decision is just temporary, the case now heads back to the fifth circuit court of appeals where a three-judge panel made up of mostly conservatives will evaluate the merits of the original lawsuit. it is unclear who will hear the case. an expedited hearing is set for may 17th. if the panel decides to pull mifepristone off the market, this case will end up on the docket of the nation's highest court not even a year after the conservative

eavesdropping channel use for intelligence gathering >> all, right allie raffa, thank you. we know go to -- in taipei. what are the implications of these intelligence documen leaks? >> so there are two real problems here, if your u.s intelligence official with these leak documents one is exactly what ali wa just saying there. that is that there were thes sources, and methods, that the u.s. will collect informatio based on these documents, it seems like it's most likel they came from signals intercepts, basicall electronic intercepts. if they is the specific piec of information in thes documents, then whoever is, if they were listening to gathe that information, is able to get that information and the were listening to that phone call or something, then they'r going to cut that off. the u.s. could lose a key piec of, a key area that they'r able to gather information from that is a big concern righ now. the second one is more in th diplomatic world that's that some of thes documents appear to show tha the u.s. was even listening in on some allies this creates tension, it crea

covering this, allie raffa and ron allen outside the courthouse. ron, what happened during the first court appearance? what charges is he facing? >> reporter: a very brief court hearing where the judge told him that he was charged basically with violating the nation's espionage laws. laws that are a crime -- make it a crime to mishandle or handle confidential information in a way that puts the nation at some risk, specifically retaining, removing, transmitting, or sharing those documents. he faces up to 15 years in prison. and again, he's accused of violating this law using hundreds of documents, dozens of them the judge said that were labeled top secret, and some even at a higher classification. again, this was a very preliminary hearing. the initial appearance, the judge scheduled another hearing for next week, next wednesday, which is essentially going to be a bail hearing to determine if he has to remain in custody, in prison, until there is a trial. teixiera arrived in court in handcuffs, and in a prison jumpsuit. he said not much at all, just
