today, we're seeing sunshine in parts of the east bay. the south bay. so location is very key today as to what kind of weather you're going to get throughout the afternoon. and the overnight hours. we do expect pretty dry conditions, mainly cloudy tomorrow morning. we'll start out dry, but then those showers return in the afternoon and it will make for a pretty wet evening commute to finish out the day on our wednesday rainfall totals today really focused in the north bay. dry as you head south but that changes on wednesday. wednesday everybody is going to see showers, especially tomorrow afternoon and tomorrow evening. the rain chances continue into thursday. this low pressure keeps spinning. scattered showers thursday evening. and then finally, that low is going to move on shore by friday and even into saturday. we have to keep some rain chances in the forecast. so here's the accuweather seven day we have rainy north conditions today, drier south and steadier rain tomorrow in the evening then scattered showers thursday friday evening to saturday we'll

let's go to the east bay. one person apparently dead now in oakland after police say a sergeant on his way to work was confronted by an armed person, says something that we first covered live here on the kron. 4 morning news. now we have a follow-up kron four's. philippe djegal has details. >> a shotspotter activation lead oakland police officers to respond to a shooting near frank ogawa plaza at around 4 o'clock in the morning. upon arrival, the officers located an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. oakland police say that person died on scene. they were killed after an oakland police sergeant shot police say the veteran officer was on his way to city hall to start his shift in the area when the armed suspect approached his car. police say at some point the officer opened fire, killing the person and the reason for the shooting is under investigation. in a statement, the president of the oakland police officers association, barry donelan says, quote, this morning at oakland city hall, a criminal picke

bay in the foreground. the city in the middle. and then you can see parts of the eastouth bay all the way off on the horizon. here's the forecast headlines. we have high clouds out there this morning. we're in store for a mild afternoon under a blend of those clouds and some sunshine into the weekend. we keep advertising cooler weather moving in, even the chance for showers. i think sunday is probably the best bet for that wet weather next week. we do remain unsettled. no day is a washout on the seven day forecast. we're just kind of within range of fronts. none of them are really strong enough to bring us a day of rain. but there are some shower chances even monday and into tuesday. but here's future weather. you can see the cloud cover. it's just going to thicken a bit as the day goes on. we're getting these high clouds coming off of a front that is offshore and that's going to give us that blend of sun and clouds, even cloudy conditions to start out the overnight period. but we'll see those clouds quickly get out of here. so tomorrow is actually a very bright day. b

still the inner east bay, though, conquered santa rose at 57 degrees. . little bit of wind right now. half moon bay, you can see a little bit of a southerly flow. it's also been picking up in napa in fairfield there about 12, 13 miles per hour. this is the air quality currently, as you can see where all the yellow is, that is moderate. and that does include san francisco right down the peninsula over to the east bay and the south. as i mentioned, north bay doing a little bit better hanging out in the green. but there is just a little bit of haze out there. so we're expected to stay moderate today all across the bay area. same story as we work our way through our work week. so at the moment, it doesn't look like anyth ng i when it come in and kind of knock this out of the way. so the best you can do is maybe not, you know, be burning fireplaces and things like that trying not to contribute to it. we also do have a system that is offshore. that is our low pressure system set to bring us a few showers as we get into our evening. not here yet, but you can ce

degrees short of that, mid-70s for los gatos and morgan hill, temperatures not quite that warm in the east bayvalley and the delta, 72 degrees in redwood city, 65 degrees in half moon bay, upper 60s in san francisco and oakland and also for the north bay. some spots may sneak up closer to 70 degrees. that's most likely farther inland towards santa rosa with temperatures running well above average for wednesday and thanksgiving day as well. let's look at the forecast as we look a little farther down the line. the ten-day temperature outlook for san jose shows warm temperatures through the holiday and then we drop down as we finish thanksgiving weekend and head into the last days of november, but we're still going to be at least a little bit above our normal high temperatures on a day-to-day basis through the last day of november. we'll be staying in this generally favorable weather pattern for travel conditions and basically everything else heading towards thanksgiving. temperatures drop a little inland. looks like thanksgiving is the warmest day inland thursday and lower half of the 60s for th

some of the warmer spots and went in the east bay, reaching into the low 70s. r 60s for the most part around the bay, around 70 degrees in the peninsula and redwood city. into the mid 60s in half moon bay. it will influence the offshore winds. upper 60s in san francisco. your 70 and oakland. and north bay, topping out in the lower half of the 70s by yesterday afternoon, but with the offshore and downslope winds. communities in the north bay, and spots that are most likely to see those temperatures may be reaching a little bit higher, and a few spots getting up into the mid-70s. let's get take a look at the long-range pattern -- let's take another look at molly here. it is worth it. we have more rain chance heading our way. we take a look at our main long-range forecast models. the american model and european model side by side. they are in pretty good agreement as we start the clock by monday evening. let's wind the clock forward and you see a good chance of rain according to both of those forecast bubbles on tuesday, with subsequent follow-up waves of rain on t

but if you notice the east bay in the south bay, not a lot going on in these areas right here. let's take a look at radar right now. your senior, most widespread of rainfall across the north bay right now, just a few light showers there on the peninsula and sitting in the bay itself, the south bay, if you haven't seen it yet, you're not really going to get into it today. and part of the reason for that is this system is just stalled out sitting to the west of us right now. so that is resulting in some showers to the north. if you are north of santa rose up to cloverdale roadways, certainly wet up there along 101 down to fairfax to. but this storm system just won't budge. in fact, if you look at wind direction right now, most of those winds are pushing from the south and east. this is a fairly mild wind and that is part of the reason that you're not seeing the system scooting it wind like we we're hoping it would. if you were hoping for rainfall. so it's kind of sitting out there offshore. that means today going to be a dry one for some areas of the south bay and inland areas. w

there's your carpet of lights going on for the east bay shoreline as we speak a little quick tour how our temperatures are going right now. we have 40 year 50's rather. 48 dublin, 56 up pittsburgh and the north bay, mostly upper 40's near about 50 and again, we have some fairly dry air that allow the temperatures to fall in the 40's inland east bay shoreline, the lower 50's and again, more 40's up north. now, futurecast for looks pretty clear tonight. and tomorrow, a few little scattered clouds kind of spilling in because the traffic is going up in around us. and it really is going to take it to the end of the week. we finally start to see some cloud cover or missed. maybe a little sprinkle up in the north bay with this dry air are really wouldn't bet on it. not until the weekend we went might be able to scrounge up something back to our talked about them being a little bit of a breeze off shore. they switch. here we go. that's going bring our marine layer back this by thursday. that will moisten up at least the bay area to bring up with our numbers should typically be. but as far as

couple of brief sprinkles like a drop or 2 water falling in a few spots of the east bay and having drivek out for the south bay got some earlier showers on the southern end of the santa clara valley and a pretty out at this point, low pressure area builds on into tomorrow, especially. and you can see what that will do in future cast. so today, actually a pretty quiet day peeks of sunshine. couple of showers later on. and then a chance of thunderstorms after sunset tonight, specially for the inland east bay. so watch for that few rolls of thunder possible, especially around livermore. san jose fremont on up to concord as we move into tomorrow morning could see a lingering sprinkle for early commuters. but for the most part, friday, early on is pretty dry ahead of what will be a resurgence of a chance of thunderstorms late in the afternoon tomorrow. we'll take a little bit of a breather, maybe evening and then fire things back up into early saturday and saturday looks to be a very wet one, especially earlier on in the day with pockets of heavier rainfall and then widespread lighter stuff.

skies are brightening above the east bay hills or other up into the marine county had buttons east bay hills are brightening to golden gate bridge. starting to get a little bit on the drier side. now, you can see we've really fizzled out across the bay area. most of that rainfall is retreating further and further southward. now, you can actually see some pretty good shower activity right around the channel islands just offshore of southern california. back up here in the bay. things are quieting down a few sprinkles here and there, but not a lot unknown at this point. so from here forward, looks like we're going to be pressing into brighter and brighter skies. current temperatures in the 40's and 50's berkeley and oakland at 49 alameda at 50 degrees. also know about cool. 46. definitely not as cold as we have been later today. sunshine and 60's sounds pretty familiar. i'll talk more about it ahead. as for your roads, things are still wet out there. so even though rain is not falling actively for most areas doesn't mean the roads are magically dried out. so you still got to take it slow
