kristen sze. so just like we talked about the whooping cough, we have seen a decrease in the amount of kindergartners entering the school system who are fully vaccinated against common childhood illnesses, including measles, which let me give people a reference of how contagious measles is. one case of measles in a group of people who are unvaccinated can spread to about 16 other people. and like covid 19, measles can be airborne. that's why with measles, we want 95% of the population to be vaccinated to prevent that spread. just one kid who's unvaccinated can spread it to everyone around them who are vulnerable. >> are we starting to fall below that 95% mark? and is that do you think this is a result of covid and the kind of resistance to vaccines that came out of that in public opinion? >> we already have fallen behind that 95% mark. and in some states it's worse than others. in some counties it's worse than others, which is why we see clusters of outbreaks. part of it is vaccine hesitancy. part

i'm kristen sze. thanks for joining us.e're learning more today about those involved in that crash. it happened just after 3:00. this morning at hampton road and king avenue in piedmont. abc seven news reporter gloria rodriguez was at the scene throughout the morning and tells us more about the victims. >> police are not giving us information about the victims, but we're learning that all four were graduates of piedmont high school and behind me, you can see people have been coming by to drop off flowers. one person who lives nearby did not know the victims but was in tears. this is certainly impacting this quiet, tight knit community. this tesla cybertruck, left mangled in a fiery wreck in piedmont that left three people dead and one in the hospital. police believe speed was a factor in the solo overnight crash. when first responders arrived at king avenue in hampton roads. the truck was up in flames. the piedmont fire department responded and was ultimately able to extinguish the flames to the vehicle. piedmont police chi

i'm kristen sze. police are now trying to identify the owner of the dog pack. the incident happened just before 11 this morning in the fillmore district. police say the dogs first attacked a person who was just walking their own smaller dog. that person wasn't injured, but the small dog was. and it was rushed to a vet. police say the pack then attacked a second person. that's when officers arrived and killed one of the dogs. the two others ran off. >> three dogs were involved in an attacking, a small dog and a pedestrian. that small dog and the pedestrian that was in control of that small dog fled the scene and is and the small dog is seeking medical attention for injuries as a result of that attack. >> the other dogs were captured a few blocks away. the injured person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. there are new developments in the controversy surrounding san mateo county sheriff christina corpus. today, the deputies union told abc seven. acting assistant sheriff matthew fox has resigned after 25 years with the county. the news c

i'm kristen sze and i'm dan ashley. >> thanks for joining us.bodega bay near north salmon creek beach. one person has died. four others made it to shore. >> abc7 news anchor dion lim is in the north bay with the latest on this breaking story. dion. dan and christine. that's right. that call came in at about 145 this afternoon of a boat containing five people on board capsizing right here off of salmon creek beach. now, as i step aside, you can actually see that small craft still on the beach and the tracks by emergency personnel. one person is dead and the four others rescued and treated by medical personnel and transported to the hospital. now take a look at this video that was shot shortly after the boat came ashore. you can see that there are actually two helicopters on the sand, including one from the highway patrol. cpr had to be administered and there was at least one victim being wrapped in a very thick jacket. law enforcement tell me this was difficult because hypothermia had set in, and it was difficult to speak to those victims,di
