planning grant and on november 21st of 2024 the conservancy board awarded the department $1 million.the grant will be used to conduct planning for the upper great highway between lincoln way and boulevard. there are several studies that will be funded by the grant including studies that evaluate the ecological recreational accessibility, transportation and sea level rise factors that will affect the great highway and the adjacent affected areas. gathering this critical data will help us provide more input, more information to the public and help develop a plan and a recommendation vision for a resilient great highway public open space the regarding the retroactivity nature of this legislation the department did enter into a grant contract in mid-december to with the coastal conservancy for the grant funds to assure that we did not lose funds because at the time the state was the state budget was unstable and they were they were rescinding grants that they had awarded. so with the contract in place that secured our funds and put us in a better place. secondly, we have not spent any gr
