abigail doolittle is tracking all the moves.il: another day of gains for the s&p 500 and nasdaq 100. i know the year is young, but some important measures right now, the s&p up 3%. the nasdaq 100 outperforming, up .9%. commodities also doing well, up 0.3%. yields are lower, stocks benefiting from the idea that there is valuation pressure coming off. if we look at the s&p 500, we have been here before. this is that bear market downtrend we've been talking about for some time. in the past, buyers have not had enough conviction to break about that resistance level. only 23 could be different. not only has the dax broken above its 200 day moving average, but so has the dow. relative to the s&p and nasdaq, take a look at the opera performance. close to being back above its august high, suggesting that you might see these other two indexes follow along if tech can get its act together. we have some movement higher for tesla, up 4.9%, as they begin taking action for manufacturing plants in indonesia. amazon up 3.6%. bed, bath & beyond,

abigail: we are looking out the best month in the s&p 500 since january 2001. nearly 10%. who would have guessed this giving the bearish view last year? but we had a bunch of economic data coming out this morning and part of it is housing recession is still in effect and individuals are not caring. we see case-shiller index down. and as mortgage rates went above 7% the prices dipped down, but now we have mortgage rates dipping down. it is not affecting the housing market so far which slide -- slid on a month over month basis from november to october. from exxon mobil and chevron exxon mobil reported this morning and we already know what chevron did. together with chevron near 93 billion dollars. there was a buyback disappointment but relative to exxon mobil they are the first nonfinancial to have an annual year of more than 75 billion dollars worth of cash generation. pretty impressive. as well as movers on the day, we have general mortars -- motors up a .2%. they are shrugging on the ev price war we see between ford and tesla. they missed revenues by profits a

abigail is tracking the moves. abigail: into the financial reports.&p 500 and futures down 1%. and now down .2% as alix was talking. let us see if these other indexes will follow. this is a piece of the action and you can see that jp morgan had been down 3% and is now down .4%. it will not be surprising if that clips higher. bank of america is still down and messy quarters for various reasons. citigroup's fic trading beat in a big way and now we have citigroup in the green, while the other banks follow? as for another sector under pressure. if we look at tesla and you were just talking about it. tesla down 3% after they are cutting prices by 20% to prices that everybody is stimulating interest in wanting to buy a tesla. general motors and ford down 5%. one possible boost for stocks that could explain two up weeks in a row for the s&p 500 is the yield starting to come in. they are not plunging in but they are creeping down. the two year yield at 415 below suggesting that it might try for the 200 day moving average and drop significantly. and the idea t
