we want to check in with meteorologist adam klotz for the very latest our fox weather forecast. west incredibly cold and fueling that blizzard. let's dive right into it. you can see on the temperature map across the country, everything there in the blue, 14 degrees currently in denver. on the eastern side of the country a lot more of the 50's that big line in the middle is where you are seeing either rain or snow. the snow coming down 4e6ly across the northern plains, nebraska into the dakotas. we have all sorts of weather center weather alerts. everything in the orange is a blizzard warning. means really low visibility. one of the other major concerns isn't just the fact that it's snowing. it is really windy. this is a big snow storm. winds, 30, 40 miles per hour. gusting at times maybe up to 50 miles per hour. 60 miles per hour. that means drift something going to be a serious concern. this will be next couple of days. here is the christmas day forecast. i will leave you with this. the snow is in the plains. if you live in the east you see it. temperatures in the 50's. kind of

adam klotz has the latest. what are we looking at here, adam?r typical type of storm system. a lot of spots are into the 40s and 50-degree range already this morning, temperatures are going to continue to climb. what are we looking at? well, this is that system you were just mentioning down across portions of florida, it's going to be track up the east coast. ultimately, a whole lot of rain, flooding likely across the state of florida on saturday, lingering into sunday. and then that entire system starts to make that move. pay attention to the time stamp up in the corner, this is sunday evening. and you're going to watch all of this moisture and energy run all the way up the east coast into monday morning, ultimately, all the way into tuesday. you do see a little bit of snow on the back side of this system, but really it's a rainmaker. real downpours for some of these areas. everything in the yellow, expect a couple own. -- can inches of rain, maybe 4-5 inches in some isolated areas. on top of that, breezy conditions. so this is a real kind of r

fox news meteorologist adam klotz has more from the fox weather center. t system continues to spin with very little movement over the last couple of days. i can take you in on it. it sits across portions of the northern plains back into areas in denver. temperatures are around the upper 20s getting closer to freezing. snow is lighter now than it had been this time yesterday. one of the big problems has not backed off hardly at all are the winds. gusting winds. you see them. ranging anywhere from 40 mile-per-hour gusts to getting up to 60 mile-per-hour gusts. the snow that has fallen is blowing around and it continues to drag on these white-out conditions. you are looking at snowfall totals are six to eight inches on the high-end and the winds are pushing it all over the place and dangerous on the roadways. a blizzard warning includes parts of the dakotas, nebraska and some spots in colorado as well stretching up into the north dakota as well. the winds has probably been the most dangerous part of this system as you look at wind gusts getting from 50 to abo

let's go to adam klotz for fox weather forecast. adam?off what katy was just talking about. that weathery system that was just moving across the southeast, kind of wintery, right? when you think of winter you typically would think of snow. not the case at all with this one. so a lot of rain. elgt foot of total precipitation so far. winds range anywhere from 50 to 70 miles per hour. that is the system that's currently moving across the mid-atlantic and moving up into number. some areas where you are seeing it. very heavy rain in new york city. winds gusting up to 40 or 50 miles per hour. d.c. beginning to get on the back end of this a little bit. boston still in the heart of this system. no surprise here that we have got all these flood alerts currently in place with this from philadelphia up to new york. all the way up across the interior new england as well. we can time this out for you. and as you can pay attention, time stamp there in the corner. last graphic i will leave you with by the time we get in the afternoon, 2 or 3:00 you are

adam klotz born just. >> typically this time in december it is a winter storm getting into winter butong warm the east coast, it's been a major rainmaker for most folks, there will be a little bit of snow but the story is going to be the very heavy rain, at this point continuing to lift up into new england even as the rain begins to die down to new york city or some of the other locations the winds will still be in place using augustine new york city 30 miles an hour but the winds have been intense, nantucket somebody, boston seeing aghast of near 40 and some of the gas have been insane region on the high end in boston from 70 getting up to 90 massachusetts, massachusetts one of the areas with high winds and they seen a bunch of power outages over a quarter of a million for those folks same in maine power outages across the entire region because the ground is very soggy and you see the strong winds it takes down trees and tout under power lines and were losing power, rain is going to continue to be an issue with the storm system but we begin to shift into a given area across interior

adam klotz is here with how it could impact holiday travel. >> yeah, major weather system we're seeing stretching across the country that makes a difference where you are. plenty of warm air in places toward the east. you see 50s or 60s. back towards the west it's really chilly out there. temperatures in the teens. right along that frontal boundary is where we're most concerned where you are seeing big-time snow across the northern plains. everything in the orange is a blizzard warning that is currently on the screen. you are looking at a big blizzard warning. visibility down to a quarter of a mile. winds intense in the area making it tough to see and dangerous driving conditions. taking you from monday and pay attention time stamp in the corner, the future forecast. not a lot of movement here. if you are in the snow it will snow for a while. some of the pink colors is ice. it will be icy for a while. everything in front of it continues to be a very kind of rainy mess. some of these deeper colors here indicating in south dakota maybe several feet of snow. widespread at least six inches

ventura county, sending people running and sweeping away that pickup truck you see there my goodness adam klotzast. a lot going on on the west coast cam dam a ton going on, carley. we are seeing all of that because of some really powerful winds coming off the coast of the pacific ocean, forces all of that storm surge right up along the coast, on top of that, we are about about to see big rounds of heavy rain. this is what it looks like on live radar outside here early this morning in future fox model, you will see rounds of storms moving on shore today running through the overnight hours into the morning. the second not quite as powerful. rounds of storms going to add to flood risk. not just the flood risk but actually downpours. yellow colors along the coast line two to three inches. mountainous region along the coast that could add to the risk of flooding. certainly something to be concerned about. that is going to be our best chance of seeing some sort of delays over the next couple of days. the spots somewhere you are seeing the yellow delays weather related that's going to be a problem tod

meteorologist adam klotz is live with a look at the forecast. >> yeah, folks are seeing absolutely all with this winter storm system all based on the temperatures, right? you can tell the eastern half of the country mild, 50, 60 degrees and then a major cold front the system sitting in the middle. you see snow, ice and rain depending where you are. all the rain stretching in the warm areas and blizzard conditions in portions of high plains talking about the dakotas, nebraska. everything in the orange is a blizzard warning. really windy conditions basically a white-out as we talk about very heavy snow across this region. pay attention to the time stamp in the corner. what you will notice we go all the way through christmas day. this lingers through tuesday and you are still seeing snow falling, everything in the pink and more of that in a minute. that's ice which can be equally dangerous. everything out in front of this is going to be a soggy raw day across the midwest and southeast. how much snow are we talking about? the purples you get into multiple feet of snow. widespread in pink,
