i have asked our aviation expert, captain john cox who is a retired airbus a-320 pilot to look at theaphs and he has done that. he says it is unlikely he believes that this is the wreckage of malaysia 370, which as you may recall was a boeing 777. he thinks this may in fact be the tail from a plane, a plane that went down in 2009 which killed all but one of 153 people on board. a plane going from yemen to the camoros islands. it crashed in june of 2009. this wreckage had a lot of shells on it suggesting it had been in the water for some time. john says listen he doesn't see any slats on the plane. he also says that's a very big clue. it's not an air foil that does both high speeds and low speeds. ooengs he thinks this is the tail section of an airbus a-310, unlikely to be a 777, one of the biggest passenger transport planes in the sky. really that's all we know right now. this is on a french island in the indian ocean. this wreckage washing ashore. and the initial read from our experts is unlikely to be malaysia 370. >> that does it for this edition of "news nation." i'm tamron hall.

this was united airlines flight 447, an airbus a-320 headed from denver to l.a.x.e plane on the ground at grand junction which is on the western slope, the western side of colorado. the plane diverted to grand junction because multiple individuals on board reported feeling ill. initially, the initial report from the plane was that there was smoke in the cockpit. however, that turned out not to be true. united says multiple passengers were ill and as a result they diverted. now, we do have some still photographs showing many passengers on board the plane wearing oxygen masks. individuals who have tweeted photos and who have talked to us have said that they did that out of an abundance of caution. the fire department reporting one individual was taken to a nearby hospital. there's the photograph. you can see literally everybody there seems to be wearing an oxygen mask but no signs at all of smoke in the plane. indeed, the fire department is saying there was no smoke in the plane. so again, an airbus a-320 diverting to grand junction, colorado on the western slope as
