we are up in allentown, just got off those 476 heading into allentown, here, at the toll plaza area. you can see light snow falling in this area. and when we first arrived here we did see several salt trucks headed out to obviously treat these roads. and keeping an eye on the roads, as the snowfalls throughout the morning. this is the first sign of snow that we saw. we noticed the precipitation as we were about five or so miles south of allentown prior to that, everything was fine though, hadn't been any snow or rain until philadelphia area, allentown temperature drops, it is 30 degrees, up here, meaning with nip sort of precipitation, we could face icing roadways. so that's what we're dealing with right now if you are taking a look at the roadways, see they are clearly wet. as we are dealing with the light snow right now so we will keep an eye out there. and we will continue to bring you the latest conditions we are seeing up in the allentown area chris lauren? >> also watching you on twitter and of course you can stay on top of the latest conditions on our website myfoxphilly.com.

allentown is now 31 quakertown doylestown 32. these temperatures are going to be falling as we go through the afternoon. these temperatures are going to fall, too, but they have got a farther way to go. so it will be until tonight that we're going to see any kind of refreeze in the philadelphia area. trenton is only 33. so, again, they only have a couple degrees to go. look how warm it is down south. it's in the 50s. so like i said tremendous variation across the area. so here are the temperatures as we go through the afternoon. they are dropping down through the 30s and into the 20s. here is 4:45 this afternoon. we're into the 20s in redding and allentown. there we go into the 20s in the philadelphia area. by around 7:00 tonight. so we're going to see temperatures drop real fast. so we need that wind to start drying up the ground or else we're going to have a lot of ice around here tonight. more about the timing and these temperatures and what to expect where you live with the seven-day in a few minutes. >> as glenn just mention

allentown and reading down to the last snowflakes.philadelphia we're still under a pretty good bright band of white snow and that is the heavy stuff and that extends down through much of south jersey. a good portion of delaware starting to dry out and cumberland county and salem county is getting toward the end as well. cape may also getting just the lighter snow. still coming down heavily from philadelphia over to atlantic city. until 10 o'clock we have a winter storm warning in effect through philadelphia delaware county and parts of bucks montgomery and chester county. farther to the northern and west it's an advisory. this may fall off the map a little early depending on how the snow tapers off. for now i would expect until 9 or 10 o'clock to see snow falling in some areas. it will be beyond that by the time the plow trucks can get out there and clean everything up. expect delays during the morning rush. we have had heavy snow overnight especially south and east of philadelphia but in the city it's fairly decent. several inches on
