americans there who are out there, away from home, away from family, giving their life. and young people have to realize there's a good reason for that. there was also a singer performing the national anthem out of respect. now, over in the east bay, danville celebrated veterans day with a free breakfast for veterans. the danville town council hosted a pancake breakfast this morning at the veterans memorial building. all complimentary included vets on active duty and their families as well. the town council also opened the memorial building and set up booths for people to learn more about u.s. troops. throughout history, veterans say they can feel the appreciation and the support, especially as the city works so closely on projects with the veterans association. i think it's outstanding that town council here is completely supportive of everything we do. when we made a deal to re modernize this building, the town came in with half the money and the veterans raised the other half. now, in just 30 minutes, the council and the city mayor will light the mount diablo beacon to honor those who have served. now there are several restaurants around the bay area honoring veterans with meal deals g
