joining me now, atlanta journal- constitution reporter greg bluestein. it's great to see you again, greg. give me a sense of what the data says, the stuff we have so far. what does it suggest about which candidate might be benefiting from early voting? can you tell? because you have to consider one thing. tens of thousands of first-time voters, they register shortly after harris's first rally in atlanta. so, can you assume that this week's high vote volume favor sir? >> yeah, it's hard to read too much into the numbers. and by the way, those numbers keep on going up. today, georgians set a one-day record for saturday voting on the first saturday where they could vote early. they have already set a new record in saturday voting. so the numbers keep on soaring. we noted that can be a good thing for both parties. the demographics, we don't know who people are voting for. we do know that they are general demographics. and they show that the voters are so far skewing older, wiser, and more female. the older and whiter part helps republicans in georgia. the mo

his next rally is in lynnette county, suburban atlanta.hat's probably one thing that i've noticed is, is it an outreach or getting more media attention? those two things have jumped out at me. host: how many electoral votes up for grabs in georgia and how do they get parsed out depending on who wins? guest: it's winner take all, 16. host: some of the other details we got from the state as far as this, we talked about the population itself. the unemployment rate at 4.1%. the median household, $75,000 or so. 13% in poverty. when people vote in georgia, as you see it, what are the top issues? is it economic or are there other things people are interested in as they head to the polls? guest: when you talk to voters, both sides mention the economy. and then republican leaning voters bring up immigration and when you talk to democrat leaning voters, they bring up abortion. so it's really been those three issues. people will mention other issues, but it's really those three, when you talk to voters, that's what is bringing them to the polls. host

allie rafer is monitoring that from atlanta. what is kamala harris doing to try to shore up support among white voters today? >> yeah, alex. the harris campaign's efforts are specifically targeting black men, and that is because we know even though harris does enjoy the support from the majority of black male voters, when you compare her popularity among this group to that of president biden when he was the democratic nominee, you do see a slip in support. we are seeing more and more black men say that they are open to voting for former president trump. we are expressing a desire to just sit out this election in general. and so because the harris campaign knows how incredibly close this election is expected to be, they are trying to level out the playing field here and try to erode some of that support by black men for former president trump. knowing that even the slightest bit of a difference could make a difference on election day. so you are seeing this massive effort from the harris campaign court those voters. and i can tel
