the south bay. and we've had some pretty decent rainfall totals here, a closer look shows rain that's been covering up and down the peninsula, with lighter showers moving into the north bay and also some light rain from san francisco and extending over toward the bay into antioch. so more rain in the forecast, at least for the next few hours, and then mostly cloudy with another chilly day ahead. we'll talk more about that and what to expect coming up. >>> you're seeing slowing in the south bay, mike. >> yeah, because the timing is typical here, that first burst actually kicking in and sticking around this wednesday, a little more traffic generally speaking. that's what we see for 101 through san jose. the crash at tully not presenting a major problem, but part of a tire may be in the roadway. puddling and ponding off the freeways and farther south, gilroy, toward san martin, highway 101 sees slowing because of the volume of traffic feeding in off 152, but also this blue, puddling and pondiely in the

bay. inland east bay and south bay too. through the afternoon, likely some of that fog hanging out through the bay, san francisco, and of course at those beaches. so that's the one thing that's going to be a little bit different here for us. numbers to start, begin in the 50s. not too many differences through the bay area when you look at morning temperatures. 52 for the east bay. daytime highs tomorrow with that foggy breeze staying strong at the coast, it's going to help numbers to drop 4 to 7 degrees. instead of those 80s we had earlier this week, even a few 90s, we're back down to 74 here in milpitas. for the east bay, up to 78 in antioch. that's some of our max temperatures out there. 73 in danville. 67 hayward. peninsula, 59 daly city. sonoma 74 and mill valley at 68. we've been telling you about that chance of thunderstorms for the sierra. you can see here through tomorrow afternoon, it's pretty widespread. right now, not expecting anything for the bay area. we'll have that doppler

let's go to the east bay. maybe you're getting ready to hit the road and join all of these other people. we'll stick with the cloud cover through midmorning, so it will be a day when you need the jacket to start. by lunchtime into the afternoon, it should be pretty pleasant in the mid to upper 60s. san rafael starting off pretty cool, 48 degrees, another place where it will be the kind of day where you need the jacket, but then by the time you pick the kids up, they might have ditched it already. temperatures cool at the coast, if you want to find the warmth and kick off the weekend just right, let's go to napa where we're seeing 77, as well as martinez. some places that might feel warmer are areas like fairfield at 83 and down through the santa clara valley. morgan hill coming in at 81. we'll talk more about your microclimate weather and all of the weekend events in just a little bit. >>> mike, where are we going for a check on the roads? >> we're going to look at the berkeley curve, emeryville westbound, we'
