"today in the bay's" bob ridell is live at the fremont b.a.r.t. station to explain why today could go a long way in ensuring trains stay running no matter what. >> reporter: good morning to you, sam and laura. you're talking about assembly bill 528 which we presented to committee a little bit later this morning at 10:00 a.m. if it passes and it ends up becoming the law, what it would do is prohibit b.a.r.t. employees from striking as long as they have a no strike clause in their contract. in other words, this would be enforcing something that was already agreed upon. this is being proposed by assembly woman catherine baker of san ramon. she is trying to prevent what happened back in 2013 when b.a.r.t. unions went on strike twice. even though some, if not all the workers, did have a no strike clause in their contracts. those strikes inconvenienced thousands of commuters and according to the assembly woman cost the economy $73 million a day. executive director for one of the unions did tell the bay city news service a couple months ago that this bil
