it was reported about three hours ago on generally town and buchanan -- gentry town and buchanan. jade hernandez has the latest from the scene. >> reporter: good morning. firefighters are out here. even pg&e. i just spoke to a crew. they just told us that they turned off the gas to two buildings. this fire quickly grew to a blaze around 3:45. we spoke to a woman's husband who heard explosions, what sounded like ammunition going on. they saw residents on the balcony. the contra costa county fire department responded right away. >> we don't know what caused the fire. typically, in these buildings, they have four units that are all sort of tied together and those were all caught on fire at the same time. that's what we're dealing with. >> reporter: this fire broke out at the village of parkview apartments in antioch. the fire damage is extensive, destroying four apartments, heavily damaging three others and slightly damaging another. we're told by the battalion chief seven or eight families may be affected. firefighters did not know how many of the units were occupied. one individual
