meteorologist cecily tynan in for adam joseph and the rain has stopped cecily. >> that's right. we did start the day with showers with a cold front moving through. now some peeks of sunshine up ahead. right now let's go look at satellite6 and action radar. i've been on vacation for a week. and this shows that that front moving through and what's behind it, there's high pressure up to the north. that high pressure will be nudging down somewhat and that will bring pus loads of sunshine tomorrow. temperature-wise, it's still pretty mild but that will front to our south has pushed the 80-degree weather. we're at -- we were at 87 degrees yesterday. that's down to the south. right now though still pretty mild with a current temperature of 70 degrees. so, your evening planner showing the clouds will that continue to thin out. they should be clearing out by about midnight and with the clear skies it will be cooler. overnight low down to 49 degrees. seasonably cool. the next two days will be seasonable but i am tracking another day back near 80 degrees and then much cooler for the weeken

meteorologist melissa magee is in for cecily tynan. she's live outside with the holiday weekend forecast. hey, melissa. >> hey, alicia. yeah, it was really nice today and even as we go throughout the rest of the afternoon and evening hours, temperatures are pretty comfortable with a fair amount of sun overhead. right now in philadelphia it's 67. the upper 60's for allentown and reading. 62 up in the poconos. cooler at the coast though from beach haven down cape may, numbers be there are only in the 50's. here is satellite6 along with action radar. we have a partly sunny sky across the region. off to the west there's more in the way of cloud cover as a frontal boundary tries top inch closer to our region. it makes fit our way as we get into the start of our weekend on saturday. so, for tomorrow, we have clouds and a few sunny breaks as the day wears on. 8:00 a.m. that temperature in at 53. it's mostly cloudy still at 11:00 a.m. and at 62. more sun peaking through those clouds tomorrow afternoon with numbers in the upper 60's. 5 o'clock

cecily tynan has the latest on the forecast that is slowly but surely turning the corner on temperatures. >> still today a lot of clouds and they are really thinning out and we got rid of the showers and sky 6 hd overlooking reading and the skies are brightening and the clouds this thinning out be the low pressure meanders out of here and temperatures were stuck in the 50s. and philadelphia 64 and allentown seeing more breaks 70 and reading 69 and cape may still on the cool side. 60 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing finally the low pressure you can see it's spinning out of here and taking its time and we are getting wrap around moisture in the form of clouds and the clouds are really beginning to break up especially harrisburg and west. that is the case tomorrow. tomorrow we see a good amount of sunshine and tonight mostly cloudy and areas that have the breaks in the clouds, the temperature will drop close to the dew point and the fog could develop and cause problems tomorrow morning. 57 in philadelphia and allentown 54 and wilmington 55. so tomorrow not only is it the

cecily tynan is watching stormtracker 6 live double scan all afternoon for us.the latest. we are clearing out quickly, double scan live radar showing the heaviest weather has pushed out of our region and we have a triple point low to the west and south and what this is doing is moving to the northeast and all the convention, all the thunderstorms well in advance of that. we have some lingering showers, and they are really moving out generally north of trenton across the lehigh valley and the storms moving north at 60 miles per hour. and they rolled in quickly and they also push the out quickly and this is a live sky 6 hd showing the ben franklin bridge it makes sense with thunderstorms you get the rising air. and once they move out you get the descending air and we have sunshine and blue skies returning to the region. as far as the winds though, they were pretty fierce with thunderstorm wind gusts of 58 miles per hour in ocean city. and 46 in atlantic city and delaware city 54 and tuckerton 58 and ship bottom, new jersey, a peak wind gust of 64 miles per hour. r
