and megan, our own christian schaffer will be in texas today providing reports as the o's continue their run through the postseason. >> i know we're looking forward to that. >>> the heart pounding excitement of a playoff chase now being shadowed by some heartbreaking news to share with you this morning. the tragedy. we're talking about oakland a's pitcher gnat neshek, he and his wife were supposed to have one of the greatest weeks of their life. after the a's clinched a berth monday night pat was on the plane heading from oakland to florida. this was just in time for the birth of the couple's first child. a baby boy named derrick. sadly, less than 24 hours later the baby died in his mother's arms. the couple told the world through twitter late last night thatted this happened. his wife stephanie said there's no explanation for her son's death. she went on to write that her heart feels better to now how many people out there are thinking of the family. such a sad story. >> it is heart-breaking and something you just cannot imagine. >>> all right, stay with us this morning, mothers, sister
