chuck todd. new developments in ferguson, missouri, where we're expecting any minute now for the police to release the name of the officer who shot and killed 18-year-old michael brownn saturday. you're looking live here at where that announcement will happen. and for the first time since the shooting, protests have come. governor nixon handed control of security in ferguson over to the missouri state highway patrol. the scene on the streets yesterday was nothing like what we saw two nights ago. crowds and protesters were out into early morning hours, but police say they didn't make one single arrest overnight. police have been withholding the name of the officer who shot and killed brown, but now they say they'll release that name. this morning, governor nixon told the "today" show this is an important step in the investigation. >> multiple investigations going on, not only ferguson police but the department of justice. i've said all along i thought getting that name out was important, especially once they indicated they were going to. i think today's actions to get it out, like i said, it's an important step. it's not the finish line of the it's a hurdle to get ov
