columbus day, of course. kids off from school today. a little makeup from yesterday when it was just a soaking rain. wettest day yesterday of the entire year. we got more rain yesterday, nearly two inches in boston, than we've had since back in september of 2015. quite a bit of rain, needed rain, across the area. we had over 3 1/2 inches of rain on nantucket. north wam mouth. beneficial rain across the area. back over the clouds. right here near the cape cod canal. the otherwise, we're watching a big area of high pressure build in. this is going to give us sunshine today, tomorrow, right and high pressure nosing in is wind advisories. we could see gusts on the islands 40 to 50 miles an hour. we're gusting close do 40 hyannis. elsewhere, winds are noticeable. lots of gusts over 20 and sustained winds about 15 to 20 miles per hour today for the wind. it's going to be an issue, especially as you head out the door. temperatures right now running in the low 40's in worcester. 45 when you factor in that wind, it actually does feel like it's i
