david culver has been in culpeper all day talking to investigators and family members of the victims. he joins us now live outside the family home with new information. david? >> reporter: jim, tonight this home behind me, now a crime scene. a simple home along a two-lane highway here in culpeper, virginia. in talking with family and friends and neighbors, it's clear this a devastating and tragic loss. relatives tell me the family of five liver lived in the home. the children raged in age from to 13 years old. saturday evening was the last contact anyone had with the family. on sunday morning they didn't show up for asght shauna's moth grandmother of the three kids, along with a family friend decided to check on the family. around 10:00 they showed up at the house. doors were bolted locked. she went in there a window, found all five family members shot to death. the gun used also found inside the house, according to the sheriff. >> there's been a domestic situation between the husband and wife. our investigation up to this point would lead us to believe that the crime was committed by

news 4's david culver is part of our trial coverage team and has the latest from richmond. >> reporter: the prosecution started off their closing arguments going right after bob mcdonnell, mockingly referring to him as mr. transparency and mr. honesty. in his more than two-hour remarks the prosecutor told jurors this is fundamentally a simple case. the single, simple question is why? why did jonnie williams give the gifts and loans? why did bob mcdonnell take them? that is bribery. that is corruption. the real thing." jurors have heard 24 days worth of testimony and evidence. it's a lot of information. the prosecution gave them the abridged version and simplified the timeline using a time slow on monitors to reference some of the evidence. among that evidence the prosecution points to the governor's mansion event that served to promote jonnie williams' company. host this event at the mansion was what mattered to jonnie williams, the prosecutor told jurors, and what mattered most of all was that the governor showed up." jonnie williams was on cloud 9. this was exactly what he wanted. th

northern virginia bureau reporter david culver is out the prince william county courthouse.e explains how the court's possibly going to handle the change in law. david. >> reporter: a ek from today we could possibly see gay couples walk up to courthouses asking for a m license. i've been talking with some courts here in northern virginia and some tell me they are going to abide by the attorney general's lead in all of this but it is not clear if all clerks are going to follow that. what we do know is the clerk here is among those fighting to keep the ban on same sex marriages in fact taking to it it to the highest level asking the u.s. supreme court to step in. the fight against virginia's ban on same sex marriages has moved quickly. in february we were in norfolk for the first round. the u.s. district court striking it down. the defense took it to the next level. they also declared the ban illegal and today they decided not to impose a stay meaning gay marriage would be allowed as soon as next wednesday. >> giving me direction. >> giving you direction. >> reporter: it acoan
