you can see behind me, live doppler 7 is clear. no clouds to speak of. we are watching the winds that will continue to crank up throughout the day and red-flag warning has been extended into monday night. you can see the highlighted areas, upper elevations, over 1,000 feet. we are looking at wind gusts in excess of 35 miles an hour and of course that drys out the vegetation and fires can start easily. so be advised of that. be very careful out there. nobody there at the golden gate bridge. looking at 60s and 70s by noon time. coastal areas will be sunshine. around 70 for some of you. to mid 80s inland. >> thank you. we are developing news at half moon pay where an officer struck and killed an officer. this morning the agency's multidisciplinary accident investigation team is looking into what happened. the chp says an officer was driving north on highway 1 when he hit a 74-year-old man from burling game outside sam's chowder house. a restaurant worker and bystander tells abc 7 news the victim was attending a wedding reception there. he died at the scene.

here's a look at our hi-def doppler. so these little spots of green that's actually ash that's coming down. let me zoom in and show you where we are seeing this. of course, right next to napa and yountville looks like it's coming down there on 80 as well between fairfield and vacaville. and that's over the past three hours. you can see it start to thicken up even more there right along the areas where the fires are burning. here's a look at the conditions in those areas. winds right now in sonoma coming from the southwest at 8. healdsburg north wind at 7. gusts up to 25 miles an hour but not what we were fearing so the wind gusts seem to have happened outside of the fire zones. right now, the particulate matter in the air for sonoma is unhealthy. oakland is seeing particulate matter in the range of 150. san francisco around 160. so of course that's why we're seeing the smoke in the sky. this is a look from our vaca cam. it certainly doesn't feel good on a lot of people's lungs. here's a look at some of the peak gusts we

7 typically when you see greens and yellows on our screen we're talking about rain but live doppler 7 with the active sweep can pick up on smoke particles in the region and that is what we're seeing, smoke particles around santa rosa and in the vicinity where that evacuation order is under way. as you can see live doppler 7 giving thaw active sweep updating you showing you that smoke emanating from parts of the north bay. this is one of the first locations that we were tracking late last night, atlas peak road where one of the fires is right now, similar story that relative humidity could not be any lower essentially in our neck of the roads, that's 16%, that is very dry atmosphere and the winds right now out of the northeast at 14, but this is the problem. they're gusting to 32 miles per hour and the winds are just going to hamper those activities by firefighters early this morning as they're trying to get a handle on these fires. the winds over the next 24 hours it's rather active through the morning hours. here is your time stamp below, 4:00 later in the morning, wind gusts 29, 3
