josh: a woman from windham is accused of driving the wrong way on the everett turnpike. police say chelsea cormier was intoxicated when she drove north for nearly 16 miles in the southbound lane. wmur's kristen carosa live from the bedford tolls, one of the locations that the woman alley reporter: authorities say these types of driving offenses are extremely dangerous, especially someone driving under the influence. it happened around 1:00 a.m. this morning, the 24-year-old chelsea cormier was driving the wrong way on the everett turnpike near exit 13. once cormier drove through the bedford tolls she headed northbound towards the hooksett toll plaza. state police responded and got into position ahead of her as she continued to drive northbound. officers laid down spike strips which slowed her car down. cormier pulled over but then attempted to pull back onto the highway, with two flat tires. she was finally stopped by police and arrested. >> many persons who are under the influence of alcohol lose track of which direction they're driving in, specifically on the roadways

it happened on the southbound side of the everett turnpike just before midnight. thankfully no one was seriously injured. this morning. >>> a man will be arraigned in court after he set his own mother's house on fire. police arrested justin kane sunday evening. investigators say kane poured gasoline on his mother's porch and lit it on fire. ray brewer is live in salem with the latest. good morning, ray. ray: good morning. police telling us that justin kane lives at the house with his mother. kane ran off and was picked up by someone. that led to a search involving several departments. kane is accused of trying to light his home on fire. the two had an argument. kane poured gasoline on the rear deck and lit it on fire. salem firefighters responded to the duplex before 3:00 sunday afternoon. police searched the area with help from other local departments. >> since it was on really that three town border, we set up perimeters trying to basically lock in the suspect. ray: police say kane was found thanks to his cell phone. >> we also have the ability to track someone'

in everett tonight, kelly o'hara, 7 news. >>> a holiday tragedy in milford. a couple found dead in their home from apparent carbon monoxide poisoning. two others rushed to the hospital. >> right now john is live with what we're learning about this investigation. john? >> reporter: well, the neighbor just told us that the two people taken to the hospital have since been released. they're now in a hotel. meanwhile, this building is still condemned. neighbors say no one had heard from the couple all christmas morning. just before 1:00 in the afternoon, the man and woman who live in the apartment on the right, were both found dead in their bed. the two people who live in the adjacent apartment in the same home were rushed to the hop. >> it's sad. very sad about both of them. >> reporter: when milford police and fire arrived to the home in the prospect heights neighborhood, they found elevated levels of carbon monoxide inside the house. police tell 7 news faulty burner in the basement is likely to state police now leading the investigation and the board of health

police make an arrest in the stabbing of an everett high school football player. a former student at everett high under arrest and appearing before a judge in the past few hours. eric rasmussen was in court for that arraignments. >> the reporter: in the last couple of hours, we got our hands on the arrest report from the clerk around the corner. it reveals that the victim in this case picked the suspect, 19-year-old out of the photo lineup. it also says when officers went to mercia's apartment today, they found a large knife. >> anything you have want to say? >> fox 25 was there as officers escorted garcia out of the police van and into the maldin courthouse where he sat behind a partition out of view. >> investigators now say mercia is the one who pulled the knife on a high school student stabbed him in the hand and back walking home from a halloween party. >> it was my friend. >> the reporter: we spoke to fox 25 about the attacks last month. only in the last few days, police say they identified mercia has a possible suspect and arrested him late this morning. >>
