i'm laura garcia. >> i'm . marcus washington has time off.'s check about the spring, almost summer like weather. good morning. >> good morning. we're starting out clear in the south bay but we are seeing very dense fog in parts of the north bay and south county, so watch out for the fog this morning but record high temperatures for today and see more of that going into the weekend as well as the very dry conditions. the visibility before we get ready to head out the door take a look at the zero visibility that we have around novato. the fog and record high temperatures coming up in few minutes and the dry weather. vianey, you're tracking the morning commute. anything going on yet? >> it's pretty quiet. we had a couple overall crashes but those have cleared out. where the yellow squares are, those are my fog sensors. please be careful out there and don't use your high beams, use your regular headlights. high beams will reflect off the fog and make it worse. a closer look at your drive times throughout the bay area in a few minutes. back to you

i'm laura garcia. >> and i'm scott mcgrew. marcus washington has the morning off. let's check in with kari and a rainy week. >>> yes, we had the rain yesterday. now the moisture is left on the ground and that's condensing into fog. very dense fog in parts of the east bay as well as the north bay. take a look at the visibility down to a quarter of a mile, so you do want to allow extra time to get to work. it is clear in the south bay as we get a look outside in san jose. some clouds rolling by and some peeks of sunshine today as we head into the upper 50s. the next chance of rain coming up in the forecast. how is it looking for the commute? >>> kari, what you're talking about is what we're looking at here. for the dublin camera we're looking at what you have trouble looking through, the fog in the tri-valley. the dublin camera shows that traffic flow is just fine. we'll show you on a map what we're talking about. the yellow highlighting there. 680 moving up to the north bay as well. we'll keep an eye on things. the traffic flow at speed. scott? >>> mike, state leade

i'm laura garcia. >> i'm scott mcgrew in for marcus washington. to kari and the forecast. >> we are starting out with chilly temperatures this morning. let's take a live look outdoor in san jose and tell you about what's ahead because we are going to see big changes. this is the last day of warm and sunny weather before we get showers and thunderstorms. there will be several storm systems coming in behind that that could bring in some bay area snow on some of our peaks and even dropping down in some of our lower elevations. we'll talk about all of that in the forecast in a few minutes. any problems for morning commuters? >> not unless you are looking and hoping for a closure. that has cleared as i've circled on the map 280 has been cleared. the exit reopened without any slowing. there was a quick traffic break but the sensors did not show that. the north bay we have a crash west 80 at davis heading out of the area through faifld. a smooth drive. davis i guess the area. looking at a smooth drive for the rest of the bay. no major problems. back to y

i'm laura garcia. >> and i'm cierra johnson in for marcus washington. let's start with kari hall getting into that weather. >> yeah, we are tracking all of this with stormranger, our mobile doppler radar. we have seen some of the heavier rain shifting to the south but we are still left with a steady downpour across much of the bay area as you get ready to head out the door. as we get a closer look at the south bay, it's a little lighter around san jose but we did in the past hour or so see some of the heavier rain moving through there, but it's also moving through parts of the east bay and the tri-valley as we see the rain now moving into discovery bay, moving through pleasanton and approaching livermore within the next few minutes. as we go to the north bay we're still seeing a light rain continuing here as getting more than an inch of rain and some spots getting 2 to 3 inches of rain in the upper elevations. we can still see this storm is right over us and we are going to be in with this as we go into at least the next 24 hours. so we'll be tracking t

i'm laura garcia. >> i'm scott mcgrew. marcus washington has the morning off. it looks like kari and i are rocking the yellow this morning. it's going to be a beautiful day out there, kari. good morning. >> yes, good morning. and it's tuesday. we're seeing some rain moving across parts of california. but a lot of that rain will just weaken before it gets here. even though we are seeing a lot of green here moving through ukiah, it's some very light showers for the north bay. but the storm is also pushing up some big waves. you combine that with the king tides due to the gravitational pull of the moon, it's bringing the water farther inland and we're going to have a lot of issues here with the possibility of some coastal flooding and some big breakers today. i'll talk more about all of that coming up in the forecast, like what's going on right now for the morning commute? >> bright yellow, i have gray. i'm eeyore. easy one right now. green shows a smooth flow of traffic. look out here toward the north bay. circled up at the top. a little debris up there. do watch

it happened last night-- when officers heard shots coming from an area near áharbor street and garciaund a man with several gun shot wounds who died at the scene.. a second victim was taken to the hospital in critical, but stable condition. officers say they also found more than 1-hundred people gathered at the scene. san francisco police are investigating a shooting that left 5 people wounded in the city's tenderloin neighborhood. officers responded to a shooting at eddy and taylor streets shortly after 9 p.m saturday night. this is video from citizen app. all 5 shoooting victims were taken to the hosptial with non-life threatening injuries. a man from stockton and two others from san francisco are currently being detained at a san francisco hospital. famed record producer and convicted murderer phil spector has died at the age of 80. his official cause of death hasn't been released yet. spector was admitted to a stockton prison hospital in 2009 after being sentenced to 19 years to life for the shooting death of actress lana clarkson. up next... a historic choice for vice-president e
