headquarters, good morning, jackie. >> good morning, laura. the futures are slightly higher at this point as investors aawait the fed's decision today. many economists thinking that the fed may be prompted to announce new measures to boost the sluggish u.s. economy in the face of disappointing jobs in retail sales data and has europe's debt crisis poses threats to growth. the decision comes out at 12:30 p.m. eastern time followed by aa news conference by fed chairman ben bernanke at 2:15. the asian markets were higher overnight. european markets were flat this morning. in the u.s. stocks closed at five-week highs on tice on the back of upbeat housing data. the dow rose and the nasdaq up 34 to 2929. and u.s. companies and employers posted the fewest job openings in five months in april. that's a signal that hiring growth may remain slow with 12.5 million people unemployed in april, that means 3.7 people are competing for every available job. in a healthy job market the ratio is 2:1. >>> microsoft may be basking in the glow of unveiling surface
