jamie costello tells how it ended. jamie? >> reporter: investigators are trying to figure out what sparked the standoff yesterday involving richard clemen. the 42-year-old was arraigned this morning after engaging philadelphia police in a 10- hour standoff. >> i heard gunshots. given there are clubs nearby and it was rapid fire. that was unusual. >> reporter: he is a clifton county police officer and marksman barricaded himself in the home of his estranged wife. two vehicles were hurt and an armored carrier was hit. one officer suffered minor injuries from the concrete when a bullet struck the sidewalk. >> people are requested -- requested to stay inside and number a secure area. >> and it turns out his wife and children were unarmed but because he was believed to have 2000 rounds of. a mmo and rifles, authorities were not taking any chances. the drama came to an end when he surrendered to negotiators. one neighbor who was hunkered down. >> and they were hanging on our doors. we were scared and such a sense of urgency. >> i w

i'm jamie costello. >> thanks a lot. we want to update you on breaking news. there's another area of violence. it doesn't change the amount of people killed. brian kuebler is here to explain. >> reporter: four people were killed, six injured in shootings throughout the sitting this weekend. one of them is michael sullivan, the owner of the sub shop. police are looking into a possible robbery motive. on the east side on lombard a triple shooting. one was killed here, two others injured as suspects rolled up on bikes and started shooting president then another shooting which claimed a life and injured one more. detectives are not sure if any of these shootings are related but stress they need help from the public to solve each and every one. >> we need to grapple the intelligence. that's the area we need to get stronger in. we need people to come foompletd i think the city is getting tired of gun violence. the bpd is tired. >> reporter: it will include increased patrol. so far baltimore has seen 17 more murders than at this time last year. >> all right. thanks.
