kari hall joining us now. we saw some cameras bouncing around, what are the wind conditions like today. >>> breezy later on but the fact that the winds are not coming onshore as strong is what's going to help the heat build into the next couple of days. coming more from the northwest. so that means that we will have some higher temperatures over the next couple of days. today, probably the last day we'll have some fairly comfortable temperatures. still warming up in a few spots. like the north bay, reaching 90 today. 87 degrees for the south bay. as you walk out the door, it's 57 degrees in the east bay. 56 degrees in the south bay. getting a closer look at the east bay now, walnut creek, 55 degrees in alameda. 57 degrees. and 52 degrees for the north bay. if you're planning to head out to the giants' game, first pitch 7:15, it will be 65 degrees but then turning cooler as the game goes on. winds kicking in at about 10 to 15 miles an hour. still breezy today. and the storm track is well to the north of us. we'

meteorologist kari hall is watching a forecast that is very hot. we were looking at your map. the more colorful it gets we mow the hotter it's going to be. >> we've seen the temperatures really fluctuating. this week it goes up for the middle of the week and then comes back down in time for the weekend, kind of like what we saw last week. right now we are in the 60s as you walk out the door. i know in the tri-valley when you wake up and are heading to work and it's 66 degrees you know it's going to be a hot day. in san francisco 56 degrees right now. and heading up to 77 degrees later today. now, we could see some triple digits in the tri-valley and the south bay as well. most areas, though, getting up to 95 degrees in the peninsula reaching 86 degrees. breezy in some spots but unfortunately we don't have the strong on-shore flow that we normally have. here is the wind forecast and these arrows show the wind direction coming in from the northwest. we can see that the winds really don't get that strong as we go through the day and our temperatures will be heating up, especially

meteorologist kari hall is looking at our forecast. we know that as temperatures get hotter we can expect increased fire danger. we do have to be careful out there. >> i was driving just the other day and saw someone had flicked a cigarette out the window and caught the pull much on fire in the median. you can't do that. we have very dry conditions. it's not in the low to mid 60s across the bay area as you wake up this morning. tri-valley 65 degrees, but look at where you're headed this afternoon. it is going to be extremely hot and you just need to make sure you try to stay cool, drink lots of water and take care of those pets. in san francisco 77 degrees today, north bay 95 degrees, also 95 degrees in the south bay and the peninsula this afternoon reaching 86 degrees. so after this scorcher of a pay it unfortunately gets even hot -- hotter as we head into tomorrow. i will talk more about that in the next microclimate forecast. right now let's get a look at traffic with mike. >>> we're going to take folks first out of 880 over by the

let's check in with kari. >> scott and kris i think it's completely the opposite of rain.t's going to be hot and dry these next few days. let's look at tiberon. we started out with low clouds and fog, and it cleared out. we do still have a few areas that have that -- the fog holding on to the bay, so if you head out to the beach, it is cooler, that may give you a bit of a break from the temperatures that continue to rise. especially these past couple hours. looking at what's happens now, it's 77 degrees in the south bade, san francisco still nice and comfortable, but heading up to 80 degrees today, 83 for the east bay, and the south bay today, 95 degrees. so very hot. we have the very weak onshore flow. it's not helping to cool things off, especially with all of that sun. as we go into the rest of the day in the afternoon, we start to have a better increase in those winds with our natural ac bringing in that cool ocean temperature -- on the ground temperature water. so the oceans have returned now at about 55 degrees. so if you are heading out to the beach, the temperature
