katherine scott has got the latest. good morning katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. that's right, two people were shot here last night, one of them was a woman who was around four months pregnant. her baby did not survive. the man who is believed to be her boyfriend and the father of that baby is in stable condition at the hospital. she is in critical condition. it happened over there right on the 7300 block of thouron avenue in west oak lane right by that utility pole. there was a car parked there and that's around where the shooting happened. that car has since been towed. witnesses told police they heard some sort of argument, then gun shots. when police arrived, she was sitting in the passenger seat of that car. the engine was still running. she had been shot in her lower back. the 46-year-old man was lying nearby on the sidewalk. he had been shot several times in both legs. police believe the shooting happened outside the car. after being shot they think the woman got in the front seat. investigators were here for hours overnight gathering evidence. >> based on

katherine scott spent the morning on the scene and has this report. >> reporter: this is is a very serious accident, 6 vehicles were involved in the crash and 6 people taken to the hospital after the accident on 73 that shut down the northbound lanes for hours. a violent six-car crash in winslow township. you can see major damage to multiple damages. a ford 5250 smashed into a car. one child was strapped into car seat in the back. she was airlifted to cooper university hospital with life threatening injuries, four others were taken to vertua. >> there was a child involved in the crash she was airlifted to cooper, her mother went by ground ambulance. >> reporter: a heavily damaged mini cooper faced the wrong way. a person was trapped in that vehicle. all of the vehicles were driving in the northbound lanes of 73 near haze mill road. accident investigators spent hours collecting evidence. >> very early into it, we don't know what caused the pick up truck to hit the opener vehicles. >> reporter: we are expecting police to release more information about the accident later on today. katherine s

katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> thanks, katherine. >>> new this morning, the delaware attorney general's office has ruled two states were justified in using deadly force against an armed robbery suspect last year. police say 41-year-old william mcnulty led them on a high speed chase last november which ended in claymont. authorities say he refused to surrender using his stolen vehicle to try to ram police cruisers and even accelerating in reverse towards them. the troopers then shot and killed mcnulty. a report issued yesterday cleared those troopers. >>> also in delaware a stray bullet narrowly missed a sleeping baby. a man in his 20's was shot on the unit block of bedford drive in edgemont. police say one of the fired rounds then went into a nearby home and struck a crib where a child was sleeping. the child was not hurt. >>> new castle county police are looking for two people who reason from the scene. >> happening today the u.s. house transportation committee will hold a hearing. they're looking into the amtrak derailment in philadelphia that killed eight people. the train was traveling twice the posted speed
