kathryn knott told a jury she didn't do anything wrong, she told them she was trying to break up a fight. prosecutors say knott, the daughter of a police chief, bragged on social media with her dad's connections and used her own post to dispute her testimony. a possible blow for the defense when a long-time friend of knott told the jury she knows her as law-abiding. that remark allowed prosecutors to show a tweet not posted about having her dad issue a ticket in a traffic incident his daughter was involved in. also shown to the jury, the men severely injured in the assault and early in the trial one was forced to have a broken jaw wired shut. two men took a plea deal, they have to complete community service and are banned for center city for the length of their probation. in two-hour closing statements the defense and prosecutors told a different story about knott's alleged behavior that night. the defense says knott was standing there, walked away with the two men who pleaded guilty and she did nothing wrong, however, prosecutors point to several witnesses that say to the court that the

nbc 10 investigative reporter harry hairston was inside the courtroom today. >> reporter: kathryn knott as she and her family left court today, day two of her trial.x-:lr knott is accused of shouting homophobic slurs at a gay couple last year in center city. she maintains her innocence, but the man she's accused of punching told a different story, he saw knott point at him while shouting slurs. someone placed him in a bear hug while others started punching him. the victim describes five days in the hospital, his eye injured and jaw broken. he says he couldn't eat anything but soup for weeks after doctors wired his jaw shut. knott also faced the witness for the prosecution who testified she saw knott punching the victim. philadelphia detectives testified knott and others she was with went to a nearby bar after the incident while the victim was in an ambulance. two men with knott who were also charged in connection with the incident pled guilty and were sentenced to probation. the judge issued a gag order from letting lawyers and witnesses talking to the media. trial resumes on monday. in
