katie: slowing down but very sticky. seems like that is the year -- the word when i take comes to inflation. if we go back to last week, everyone seems to think that was the last rate hike of the cycle. but the persistence of inflation, can we enter a stop and go period? ed: as the fed knows and everyone knows, there are long lags between what the fed does it inflation does. i am ok with what inflation has done. it went from nine percent to five set -- percent. i think wages are starting to slow a little bit. it takes a bit more time, a year for what the fed does couple does, to impact the economy. they may continue to tighten. at this point, i think they should pause and see what happens. i see no point with tightening again if they decide they should not have pause. there may be a hurdle to doing that but i think they should pause. matt: it could go either way. your research highlighted the m2 growth that is still way above the trend line it is coming down but that should maybe increase the lag. maybe the lag will be s

let's look at the charts and we'll bring in katie stockton. great to have you here, katie.loving this when you look at this chart, what do you see? >> it is an all-time high, and that typically is a good long-term development. so i wouldn't want to minimize the bullishness of what happened to nvidia. they're probably quite happy, it probably doesn't feel cheaper today than yesterday but the targeted objective that we can arrive at from this kind of breakout, we use something called a measured move projection it assumes the trajectory of the existing upturn will maintain itself nvidia is above current levels so that's all we have really to gauge a potential upside from a technical perspective, given that's no additional resistance on the chart but as we saw this gap up this morning, we did see the indicators that are a countertrend indicator, on the weekly and daily bart charting so nvidia might be overdone, at least in the short term. >> oh, overdone, at least in the short term let me understand, when you break out to new highs, it's a generally bullish thing. but this also

katie greifeld just wrapping up her show and focusing on fixed income. she is back with a look at how credit is taking this debt ceiling drama. what are you seeing right now? katie: it is interesting. we have seen a lot of concern in the treasury bill segment. not too much if you look at the investment-grade credit market. but you have ubs, jp morgan saying that could change,. if we get past the x date without a deal, you could see ig spreads hit 200 basis points. if you look back to 2011 when we were last there, it was the level that we reached. ig spreads trading around 150 basis points. they have been remarkably contained and not seen 200 since the early days of the pandemic. we will cf that changes. we know lawmakers are working on a deal. the date is drawing ever closer and jp morgan puts the odds of us getting past that date without a deal at 25%. if that happens, the best guess is this blue line will rise. matt: we will watch that carefully. katie greifeld there looking at ig spreads. let's bring in bnp paribas, meghan robson. great to have you in
