for now we're live in union square, kemberly richardson, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> thank you. >>> cefaan kim is live in jersey city tonight where the cold weather made conditions difficult for firefighters. cefaan? >> reporter: well, joe, just to give you a sense of those difficult challenges those firefighters had to face today, take a look at the wires and tree limbs out in front of this building. covered in ice from the frozen ice from the water that those firefighters threw on to this blaze today. fire officials say the water was freezing as it was coming on their hoses but luckily, several other fire companies showed up and they were able to get this fire under control. this morning here on marion place, the fire started in a first floor bathroom and the back of the building then spread quickly because of the high wind gusts in the building next door and upstairs. it took 70 firefighters to get it under control and three of them were injured but they will be okay. no residents were injured but four families are now displaced. among them, several young children. >> our friend

kemberly richardson is in philadelphia, and she spoke to a man who was sitting next to the window that shattered. her exclusive interview is coming up on eyewitness news at six. >>> eight months of investigation. answer about why an amtrak engineer was going twice as fast as he should have been, causing an derailment. jim hoffer with the latest. >> reporter: what the report tells us is that the engineer is remembering more about the fatal crash. the engineer describing how he felt the train tilting over, saying quote, i felt a sensation that the side of the locomotive lifting up. no smoking gun, it does rule out track, and safety issues. we learned more about the engineer in the 106 miles per hour fatal derailment. brandon bostian had little hands on experience with this model train. when asked by an investigator did you operate the locomotive previously, bostian responded sporadically, very very sporadically. he initially tells investigators he has no six months later he tells them in detail, he remembers accelerating on the straight away, and i don't remember anything from that point
