kim dacey joins us live with the latest on today's testimony. >> today's court did not in it -- not adjourn until after 5:00. defense attorneys were cross- examining the only witness of the day. brothers travers and in jermaine johnson are on trial for a second time, accused of setting a pit bull on fire in may 2009. day five of testimony and the retrial picked up where the prosecution left off on wednesday. surveillance video shows men interacting and kicking a dog, then the dog running from the alley on fire. sgt jackson entered via -- identified the boys as brothers travers and jermaine johnson. he talked about the day in june 2009 when sierra goodman walked into the western district and said she witnessed the dog being burned. goodman testified in the first try but refused in this trial and was held in contempt. jackson said she identified pictures of the brothers and wrote on the back of the pictures, i saw this individual running from the scene of the crime where the dog was burnt to death. the judge granted the defense motion to exclude the gas can fell at -- founded michael taylor's

kim dacey joins us with the latest. >> the judge just released the jury 20 minutes ago. this trial is moving at a rather slow pace with testimony from only three witnesses today and a lot of sidebar bench conferences during that testimony, the prosecution is still presenting their case with no indication of when they will wrap up. wednesday was the fourth day of testimony in the retrial of travers and tremayne johnson. michael taylor took the stand. he seemed reluctant to testify. he was with johnson when phoenix was fatally burned. he told the defense attorneys that he made up the story he told police about travers and getayne's involvement to leniency. a defense attorney said it did not want to put -- -- you did not want to put them in and the answer was no. but you wanted to get yourself out of trouble. >> yes. if he was lying under oath he could be charged with perjury or obstruction of justice. she was sentenced to six months in jail for criminal contempt. the jury was shown testimony from the first trial. she admits to the crime and saw the man running from the sce
