he now runs the klaas foundation to help find kids. the foundation is trying to assess how it might be able to help out the lamar family. he tells us, mark klaas tells us on the phone that marlene lamar is convinced her daughter did not run away. the sheriff's office of santa clara county does not know whether or not she ran away or was abducted. the sergeant tell us us is what makes this case so rare is that there's no evidence pointing one way or the other. sierra was last seen at 6:00 last friday morning at her home in morgan hill. at 7:15, she was supposed to catch a school bus a couple of blocks away and we were at this intersection of palm and dougherty where she is a sophomore. she never made that bus. a search party eventually saw her cell phone, and as you can see on this map, that's in the opposite direction of her school bus stop e less than a mile from her home and incidentally, that location of the cell phone is steps away from a bus stop that ends at the station in san jose. no cluesiot that cell phone from her whereabout

and mark klaas is with the klaas foundation, the president of it. what is the plan for today?urnout who want to help. >> we've had upwards of 2,000 people show it up over the last four days and just hit the weekend. traditionally the weekend is when people do turn out in large numbers. we are prepared for whatever we get. this place has turned into a well-oiled machine from being an empty vessel just a week ago. we will be able to process a thousand or more people, get them out into the field, give this. viable search locations, and cover huge amounts of ground over the course of today and tomorrow. >> a large group of searchers did go through one of the fields where a couple days ago a box labeled handcuffs, condoms were found are. there plans to go become to that area today? >> i'm not at liberty to talk about the individual search locations. that particular find was done unilaterally, not a team effort. it is an area that had been searched before, but i'm sure it will be searched again given the fact that interesting stuff was found there. >> santa clara county investigator

according to marc klaas with klaaskids foundation, the search coordinator will be here in about a half an hour. we will talk to him about this latest discovery. here is a video of the volunteers. it was a volunteer who found the evidence and alerted investigators who came over and took the evidence away. it is now being examined in the crime lab. it should take about one week before they are able to see if the items are related to the zero markets. -- sierra lamarck case. investigators have been out there numerous times but has not discover this evidence. they say perhaps a bit overlooked it or it was placed there. we will not know until results come back. on the surface, some are looking at this simply because it is so close to the other items, about a mile and a half away from her home. just down the road from where her cellphone and the bag that was discovered. that bad, inside, contain clothing that was neatly folded including the san jose sharks sweat shirt that she was possibly wearing the day she disappeared. adding all of those things together, that is why investigators are tak
