i'm kris sanchez.ding the two suspects accused in this week's south bay baby kidnapping who are due back in court. >> reporter: good morning i'm cierra johnson in san francisco. the why in this situation still remains unanswered in the case involving that abducted baby brandon in san jose, but the two suspects involved in this situation will once again appear in court. they appeared for their first court appearance yesterday, both are facing charges of kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, child abduction as well as burglary. we've also learned from a prosecutor there is evidence that may show one of the individuals purchased a baby carrier nearly a month before that kidnapping, even though she has no children. >>> i'm bob redell. oakland unified is asking parents to keep their kids at home today because of a one-day teacher strike that the school district doesn't think it will have enough staff to cover the thousands of teachers who are expected to walk out, even though the schools will be open

our own nbc bay area's kris sanchez has been following this case very closely. she was in fact at that news conference that just took place. a lot more informative of some things, kris. >> yeah, and certainly, there is a lot of information that police have at this point that they say they're not ready to share with the public or with the media because they don't want to compromise the integrity of the investigation. remember, it's not just a matter of arresting people suspected of doing something. the charges have to stick. and that is what they're doing, trying to make sure that the district attorney's office has the information and the evidence that they need to seek a conviction if these people are found guilty. now, there are three of them, only one of them is known for sure to the family. you mentioned that it is yasinia ramirez in the middle. she was with the grandma the day that the grandma went shopping, the day that baby brandon was taken. in fact, she gave grandma and baby a ride to the store and then a ride back home. so they are known to each other.
