i have reports of rain at lake tahoe. -- though. i have reports of rain at lake tahoe.ins, well let me click on one here. there was five inches of new snowfall here in the last 24 hours. not bad. on a storm like this i would expect about three feet off of -- four feet of snow. the forecast model for tomorrow morning shows a few sprinkles and clouds. it is not what i would call rain, and we will have plenty of valley fought. in on thursday morning, look at i-99. the fog will be there all the way south to bakersfield. be ready for that. tomorrow morning and again on thursday morning there will be plenty of fog. this is our forecast for thursday afternoon, we would just have some clouds. southern california is starting to dry out a little bit as well after a significant rainfall in santa barbara. i heard reports last night that there was four inch and five inch rainfall rates per hour. if you get five inches of rain at that rate, for 10 minutes, it will cause big problems, and that is exactly what happened. here and your five-day forecast with a slight chance of rain tomor

south lake tahoe at lake level could see about 6 inches. and our higher elevations around 3500 feet or so throughout the bay area, the north bay mountains could see a light dusting of snow because the weather is just cool enough. whiteouts are likely if you are heading out to the sierra. we are talking about strong wind gusts up to 100 miles at the ridgetops along with that snow. so the tahoe report shows alpine wind and snow today, especially tonight, and north star, between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. will be intense and then calming down after that. so if you are heading to places like sugar bowl tomorrow maybe the afternoon commute will be better. let's go to the waters now. it live camera really does show what's going on there. the surf is high! we have definitely been seeing pretty increased wave heights all across the west coast from washington, oregon, down to northern california because of course as that storm hits the coast, the is your launch get rougher so there's still that high surf warning in effect until 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. break

south lake tahoe is reporting snow. there is a winter storm warning out until 4 pm. the snow level it could get down to around 4000 feet. this is the key for today. this cold pool of air associated with the trough needs to swing in. we will get a break this morning and look at the wind direction turning. instead of and easterly breeze, which we've had for a while, its now northerly, west or northwest. 30s, 40s and low 50s for some. some locations will get a better opportunity for sun. , pittsburg. and el sobrante in el cerrito. snow will be the main issue for truckee today. this is the key. if one of these moves over, that could be brief, heavy rain. it looks like it's tracking close to us. some afternoon heating will help to build a good queue. i think that will play into the weather. not a lot. maybe a couple one hundredths. their brief. the next system will move him sunday night into monday. the best system looks to be next thursday. after that i think we will go drive. 50s on the campus -- on the temperatures. tonight it will be a cold one as we clear out. tomorr
