it's not the latinos can't do it. if you look at cuban-americans, they were able to do it, but they're context of reception was quite different from a lot of the other groups. i was just reading that cuban i've had children come by themselves and were welcomed into the net states in 1966, which is really different from what's happening to central americans. think those kinds of policies have shaped the ways in which these groups have integrated. we know you really can't go back in history. we can't go back to the 19th century. the country can't be as open as it was in this moment. having said that, i think immigration policy has to be selective. world, thek at the country should have highly throughd people who go the educational system in the united states or qualified elsewhere. people who create jobs. this is very much the story of the germans today. people who come and become entrepreneurs here. they have been entrepreneurs in germany or have made it through the german or american educational system. should be of p
