laura anthony is live with the latest. >> reporter: hi, dan. we're here at the office of emergency services where we just got a briefing. officially they are saying this fire is 90% contained. we can tell you it does appear to be completely out let's show you what it looked like earlier this afternoon. just after 2:00 this fire was whipped by some strong winds out here. fortunately, not all that hot out here. we do know this grass area is certainly very dry. this was a wind whipped fire. it was moving very quickly. we're told it started on camp parks property and stayed within that property but was moving toward the subdivision, wallace ranch that is hundreds of home. mu newly built, many under construction. >> the wind driven fire was traveling towards wallace ranch. the fire did create a lot of smoke. the sheriff's office and dublin police services diz perform evacuations. >> reporter: there were a few evacuations we're told of some of the occupied homes that were near the head of the fire. we can tell you when we got out there fire crews wer

abc 7 news reporter laura anthony continues to report for us and for our sister station in houston and joins us live from cypress, texas. laura? >> reporter: i'm actually a little ways out of cypress. we're actually 30, 40 miles north of houston. we've been following this convoy of cars and boats and trucks. these are animal rescuers, and now that the human rescue is winding down, these folks are able to focus more on finding and rescuing some of the animals that may have been stranded at at height of this disaster. let's show you what happened earlier this morning. i shot some of this video for facebook live. this shows you the houston spca where they were doing a major movement of the animals that they already had there at the shelter. these were animals that were up for adoption. more than 100 dogs and cats that they decided to move out and what happened is spca, humane society, folks from other cities around the area came into houston. they helped pack up these animals safely, the ones that were already there, and they are moving them all to atlanta. that is to free up space in tha

laura anthony has the story. >> reporter: randy wilford said he just finished fixing a flat tire when he noticed what looked like litter. he soon realized there were baseball cards, thousands of them. >> what was going through my mind was the one card that you heave sitting in the bushes, the one with all the value or meant the most, so you dig through the bushes to get all of the cards out. >> reporter: thes are the pictures he took sunday morning along highway 4 near the antioch bridge. hi took him nearly two hours to pick up some 2,000 cards. >> they were blown up the hillsided a the pushes. >> reporter: the cards are mostly from the early 1990s. some loose. others in plastic sleeves. his wife and son helped clean off the collection. >> if i lost all my stuff i loved from my childhood, i would want it back. >> reporter: randy isn't much into baseball cards himself. at this point, he just wants to do the right thing and return all of this to its rightful owner. >> you realize it's more of a personal value than financial, right? so somebody is going to miss this. they spent a lot of

laura anthony continues our live team coverage and explains the strong language. laura? >> reporter: well, hi, ama. first, the permit. it was denied for several reasons. you mentioned a couple. it was also denied for lack of a security plan around this event. the mayor here, though, says this lack of a permit doesn't really change things in terms of their planning. if you recall, prior events like this in berkeley did not have permits either. still, hundreds of people showed up anyway. >> charlottesville is coming to the bay. >> reporter: they are a coalition of groups rejecting the plea from the mayor of berkeley to stay away from sunday's anti-marxism rally. >> we're not advocating violence, but we are saying, you have to fight. so fight for what you stand. you choose the method. >> we're not here to cause violence, for white supremacy. >> reporter: the organizer of sunday's event said it's not about racism or white supremacy, but these community activists aren't buying it. >> here in berkeley, we have a mayor who wrings his hands and says, i cannot stop free speech. >
