seeing that in lehigh valley, 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. we continue in the lehigh valley with that. for delaware, new jersey, going to see freezing rain conditions as well through 8:00 a.m. we may see more of a rain changeover earlier in delaware and new jersey. the shore has seen that changeover. that's going to continue through 9:00 a.m., temperatures already making their way into the upper 30s to low 40s. here are snow total projections through the morning. less than an inch over parts of new jersey, seeing that changeover. an inch through philadelphia and suburbs, one to two inches plus icing. that continues into the lehigh valley, two to four inches, three to six inches possible in parts of the poconos. this is the snowfall projection moving through the rest of the morning. we're going to be tracking changing conditions with temperatures starting to warm up all the way through the afternoon and evening as well. tonight we see warmer temperatures of the day. >> and it will be dramatic. when you're on the air tomorrow morning, you're going to be looking at temperatures close to 6

traffic is moving northbound towards the lehigh valley between quakers town and the lehigh valley. the accident scene had earlier closed off the road. right now they're allowing the right shoulder to get by but all active lanes are right now closed on the northbound side. trickling through there. you want to take an alternate, that's route 309 will get you headed northbound a little bit easier than taking the northeast extension sitting behind the delay. 78 near route 412. no major problems at least in terms of an accident. you can see the roads are slippery. the ramps especially. getting on and off of the majors and the highways. accident in norristown reported around the railroad crossing and marshall street. you might be detoured there. just a little bit slow. route 30 over in new jersey, white horse pike around 295, we aren't seeing anything major happening here. definitely watching for slippery spots. definitely see that the roads are a little bit shiny. that means slippery as well. stop here in hammonton. atlantic city expressway traffic is headed westbound. back towards phil

this is up in the lehigh valley. just north of the pennsylvania turnpike it switches over to freezing rain. all interior sections of south jersey and the state of delaware you have flipped over to freezing rain. we've zoomed into the southern portion of the viewing areas first. delaware bay area, above freezing. plain rain along the immediate coast, plain rain. the wintry mix of sleet and freezing rain now most of new jersey and getting into philadelphia and areas pretty close to the pennsylvania turnpike. let's go a little bit farther to the north. there is the pennsylvania turnpike stretching through norristown, south of reading. snowing in quakertown, allentown and milford. even there you will start to switch over from snow to freezing rain in the next half-hour, 45 minutes or so. temperatures are cold, now, again i know it's kind of deceiving, you're thinking we're so far below freezing why is it raining? the reason for that, again, you get a couple of thousand feet aloft, a couple of thousand feet up, temperatur

zooming in here, there's berks, there's lehigh. there's the snow coming in midnight tomorrow night and then into saturday morning, snow, this is kind of an icy mix, and as the atmosphere tries to warm from the south, there's going to be a bigger area of that icy mix, and that's what i'm more concerned about, but that's only a limited portion of the morning. by 10:30 allentown has warmed up already. and the poconos are getting the icy mix then. we're just talking about limited areas for a limited amount of time. the wider view, shows some of that wintry mix, possibly starting north delaware, or new jersey adjacent to philadelphia. and warm air is going to come in. there's that area of potential icing, but it's just brief because that warm air is moving in. and philadelphia is mostly rain because you'reing rain mast 7:00 a.m. and then it dries out. saturday evening is going to be night. another area of rain comes in and temperatures start to plunge during the afternoon because it sure isn't going to be showing sunday morning. 5:00 a.

and potentially even up toward lehigh valley. so it's mostly later sunday afternoon and sunday night we're anticipating the problems. one to three inches of snow possible. we're not talking about a lot of snow, but the first accumulating snow in areas sometimes is a big deal. you can see cloudy skies for all afternoon for the eagles game, just a chance of a few flakes toward the end of the game or on your home, especially if you're headed to the north. that's where the best chance of that snow is. no snow anywhere on saturday, just cold. more like a january die. so sunday, we have a chance of a little bit of snow in the philadelphia area, by late in the day or the evening, but it looks like it will be changing to rain. lehigh valley, best chance of it staying snow or changing over to some freezing rain in the evening. weather is going to vary quite a bit from neighborhood to neighborhood. by monday, the temperature goes shooting up. so any mixed precipitation changes over to rain. then we're not too cold on monday. or tuesday. an

this is in the lehigh valley and berks county only.se are the only areas in the first alert for some snow during the morning rush. 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. so it's just a limited time period too. could get an inch of snow on grassy surfaces. briefly low visibility as the snow comes down hard for a brief period of time. it could stick to some untreated surfaces. look how cold it is in allentown now. 23 degrees. while it's 33 in philadelphia. so those temperatures are going to be critical. the temperatures will be coming up toward daybreak, but will they come up enough to have this snow melt as it hits? that's going to be the big question. philadelphia should be warm enough for rain, and temperatures well above freezing. the p.a. suburbs, kind of a marginal case, at least in the beginning. could be some snow involved. lehigh valley, pretty good bet there's going to be snow. at 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., but eventually that is going to be changing over to rain as well. more on the timing and what to expect for the holiday weekend coming up.

what are you seeing in the lehigh valley? things moving out? >> reporter: yeah, things have definitely moved out as bill was talking about. the last few times we saw you there was a slight drizzle. rain coming down. that's not the case anymore. cars out on the roadway this morning and we're pointing our camera in this direction because we want to show you there's quite a bit of light there. you can see just how wet and slick those roads are. so expect that when you head out your door this morning you're going to want to take it seriously. take this into account when you are driving on the roads because we saw an accident. this is video. we were stuck behind this accident on the northeast extension about an hour and a half ago. there were two vehicles involved in this accident. you can see all of the damage to that one vehicle. luckily everyone at the scene said they were okay, but i can tell you it was snowing in that area at the time of the accident leading up to the accident we saw rain. so again, although we are not in the first alert mode a
