abc 7 news reporter lilian kim has the story. >> probably five or six cars stop. they get out, armed with bulletproof vests. >> helena saw at least a half dozen immigration and custom enforcements agents on her property. her husband was doing yard work behind the house where he was taken into cutts di. the family feared the day would come but held out hope. >> he didn't drink. we just assumed they were coming for other people who really are doing wrong stuff. >> reporter: her husband is 39 years old and came here from mexico at age 4. the family hadn't heard about the warnings of possible i.c.e. sweeps over the weekend. they sought the help of rapid response network. an organization that assists undocumented immigrants facing deportation. >> i.c.e. agents made their presence known. within a couple hours of the arrest they were seen gathering at this parking lot on gasser drive. >> we feel like it's a tactic to increase fear in the community and cause them to forget they have rights. but that's why rapid response exists, to remind people they have rights. >> daught

abc 7 news reporter lilian kim has more. >> reporter: open public schools have a lockdown drill twice a year. school and classroom doors are locked, blinds closed. recently the district added active shooter training. a private vendor teaches them how to run, hide and fight. 100 employees have gone through the training and more will be trained on friday. >> with sandy hook and columbine and aurora and paul's nightclub shooting, and las vegas and this shooting. this is an unfortunate occurrence that's not going to stop. >> shots fired. >> training is becoming more widespread. just a few weeks ago a drill was conducted at napa valley college. in this scenario, local police don't wait for a s.w.a.t. team or fbi. they go in immediately and in some cases put themselves between victim and shooter. >> the most important thing is for parents to take a breath. >> for parents, the possibility of an active shooter at their children's school can certainly be a source of stress. especially after what happened in florida today. she says moms and dads should manage their own anxieties first before ta

lilian kim has the story. >> a plane went down. >> reporter: anthony was driving while his girlfriend caught it on video. the couple spotted the aircraft moments before it landed on the median. >> it was coming over, everyone was in shock. >> reporter: the veteran pilot with 40 years of experience was in route from watsonville to davis but reported envin trouble with his route. >> how scary was it? >> it wasn't. >> he said he was trying to land with traffic but changed his mind after he saw brake lights. >> i had to go to the shoulder, the opposite direction. my wing tip was out into the number one lane and a couple cars moved othver to make room r me. i'm sure it's a day they'll remember. >> reporter: there was no injuries or damage to his planes or the passengering vehicles. pilots who heard about what happened were impressed. >> it says a lot about the pilot's training. they said he had 30 seconds to decide from the time he had the power out to when he had to put it on the free way. >> reporter: no word on what was wrong with the engine, the faa is investigating. >>> another teenag
