. >> and i'm lloyd sowers. thanks for being with us. tampa. a tampa police officer is injured tonight during a chase. he crashed his car just a short time ago. fox 13's evan lambert has more. >> at the scene for you, east lake avenue and east central avenue in tampa where according to tampa police this police car here crashed into that electric pole after following a suspect's car, a car that they believed was involved in a carjacking yesterday, and also, several other robberies. three other robberies since yesterday. according to police, an officer spotted that car, a black sudan, and fostled it followed it into this area, the suspect's car ended up crashing and as that officer was catching up to the suspects car, the car also crashed. we are told the officer did have minor injuries as a result of that crash. he was taken to the hospital where he is being treated at this time. police are on the loose. we are going to be trying to find out more information and we will have the latest for you on good day tampa bay. reporting in tampa evan lambe

i want to bring in my colleague lloyd sowers who actually witnesses the execution. lloyd, can you share with us, first of all, what was it like to be in there. >> we were separated from the families for hours and we were wondering was this going to happen, and we could only feel the frustration of the families, finally going to happen tonight and then as you heard, the supreme court exhausted motions and proceeded at about 10:05, the execution started with the injections, one, two, three, the sedative, the paralysis and the heart stopping. it took about 10 minutes for him to die. we watched his chest go up and down more and more slowly and then his complex changed from a flush to a very ashen complexion. as reported earlier when the guard says any last words? he simply said, "no, sir". we sat with the families in the death chamber. we did not see bolin look at any of them, and there were no just a very solemn and silent observance, and the family members when it was over, got up and walked out, no tears, smiles, you just got the sense that it was over. >> and i just

fox 13's lloyd sowers was one of the witneses. he says bolin died ten *minutes after the lethal drugs were first injected. he said there was little emotion from the family of bolin's victims... no smiles, no tears. bolin was convicted of killing *three bay area women, back in the 19-80s. he had ten trials... and spent two decades on death row. kathleen reeves, the mother of one of his victims, spoke after the execution. she talked about the closure 3 bolin never admitted to *any of the killings he was convicted of... even during his *final interview, with fox 13's gloria gomez. and he didn't say anything to the families last night. 3 bolin's execution is bringing back a lot of emotions that hung over several bay area communities three decades ago. that includes stephanie collins' former neighborhood, in carrollwood. and several of her old neighbors still live here. and as fox 13's aaron mesmer reports... some of those painful memories 3 30 years changed a lot in this carrollwood neighborhood. some of the homes. many of the faces.

lloyd sowers has details on the developing story. >> in her lawsuit the woman said the university did not respond to her allegations. she said jameis winston assaulted her while he was the quarterback at fs u.n. 2012. erica kinsman went public with the allegations a group of men took her to an apartment where jameis winston raped her. he has denied it saying it was consentual a prosecutor did not press charges saying there were gaps in the story of the accuser and not enough evidence. today, fsu will end the suit with this settlement. $250,000 the attorneys will get $700,000. $950,000 all together. the president of the university said if they had not settled it, it would have cost them millions of dollars. it's not over yet. the settlement was with fsu. there is a separate lawsuit against jameis winston himself. that lawsuit is pending in federal court. so far we have not seen any comments or statements with jameis winston or the bucs. back to you. >>> two top law enforcement officials in tampa along with the mayor are bashing a state control that would allow guns to be carried out in
