matt keller is live at the scene now with the very latest on what we've learned from investigators. good morning, matt. >> reporter: good morning. we spoke with the owner about 40 minutes ago. he told me he did have some cars inside his amoco shop here. they have some smoke damage. you can see the front rolling doors boarded frup where firefighters entered -- from where firefighters entered the building. this is video just minutes after the fire was reported. you can see the sparks from the saw as crews forced their way inside just after 11:00 last night. firefighters found a fire on the back wall behind some equipment. firefighters also ended up on the roof making sure there was ventilation from above. they had to make a hole to allow some of the heat and smoke out. this ended up being dangerous for crews on the scene. >> we did have three firefighters injured and evaluated at the hospital. two were released and one is still pending at this point. two were injured from falling debris. one smoke inhalation. >> reporter: firefighter says it appears dental. firefighters were still on -

ktvu's matt keller has been covering the story all morning and has this update. >> the morning started early for homicide detectives looking for evidence in the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy walking home from the boardwalk. daylight allowed them a closer look at possible damage and stray bullets from the crime that happened at about 8:00 last night on san lorenzo boulevard. >> the guy was telling me that he was up at the corner and he heard six shots and he said it was either a .22 or a .38. >> reporter: detectives believe that the homicide is related to the nearby gang violence. witnesses told detectives of two vehicles possibly involved in the shooting with two or three men wearing dark hooted sweat shirts. at about the same time, 12 1/2 miles away, another crime scene was set up. a car was found on fire off of larkin road. the vehicle was badly burned. it could take some time to determine if this vehicle was related to the homicide. as for the shooting victim, police say he was a gang member and had come into contact with officers several times for loitering and gang-related a

ktvu's matt keller joins us live from the scene with what we learned from investigators. nsas. >> reporter: we've seen some customers and workers arrive here on the scene of this aamco, and we were told by the owner that they're opening up for business as usual today. they say that they were some customer cars inside that did suffer some smoke damage. you can see one of the workers here with a drill. it appears he is going to be taking down these boards on the front door that were put up by firefighters after they had to cut their way into the building. the firefighters arrived here on the scene just after 11 last night. two were taken to the hospital after debris fell on them. another firefighter suffered smoke inhalation. two have been released from the hospital, while one is still being evaluated. firefighters say the fire appears to be accidental. they say it started on the back wall behind some equipment. because of presence of different types of automotive fluids neighboring repair shops say a fire in one building threatens them all. >> it goes from building to build
