that job, and one of those women is michigan governor gretchen whitmer. sources tell us she recently met with the former vice president to discuss that possible vp slot on the democratic ticket. whitmer has risen in prominence in recent months due to her handling of the coronavirus pandemic in her home state of michigan. and while we know that biden met with whitmer, he's also held other meetings with the women that he's considering for that vp job. we just don't know exactly who yet. but some of the women under consideration are senator kamala harris, former rival of biden's during the democratic primary. former national security adviser susan rice, who worked alongside biden during the obama administration. other names in the mix are karen bass, congresswoman from california. elizabeth warren, also a former rival of biden's. illinois senator tammy duckworth. biden is expected to make that decision and announcement within the coming week as he is zeroing in on the biggest and most important decision of his candidacy.

republican voters in particular in michigan. are these voices, the colin powells, the cindy mccains, the john kasichs, the individuals who said they voted for trump in 2016 and can't vote for him again, are they actually giving permission to enough republican voters to make an electoral difference for joe biden? >> katy, it's a really good question. individually, no. i don't think these endorsements, i don't think these folks coming out and vouching for joe biden are going to get a whole lot of votes. i think collectively, the drip, drip, drip of prominent figures, not just prominent republican figures, but prominent apolitical figures, and as odd as it may seem to identify michelle obama, a former first lady, as apolitical, i thought her speech the other night was really relevant to the wooing of one particular group of republican voters, and that's suburban women. and stop me if you have heard this before, but this is the single voting demographic that we have seen the most movement with over the past four or five years. and t

think about these three states, wisconsin, michigan and pennsylvania. razor three and four years ago and a moment i was so that to you but for joe biden the hunt for 270 is easier if he takes wisconsin, flips michigan and flips pennsylvania. then he would be at 259 and then hunts around this and maybe he holds in minnesota and perhaps takes nevada and i would give him the white house in 2020. let's go ahead and show the difference here for donald trump. again, the debate on texas let's say right now it is not as blue as they believe and we give them georgia as well and then he goes on the map to defend florida for 2016 and north carolina. if he were to do that and then we moved to these three states that are critical again and if he holds wisconsin, holds michigan and holds pennsylvania in that scenario he is now at 270. then he gets a hundred different scenarios in here and we shall over the next 70 days or so, the reason i'm looking at these three states is because what happened in wisconsin in 2016. donald trump won the state by three tenths of a poi

i'm hearing from folks across michigan. i had thousands of people send me their stories of how mail is being delayed. we need to get to the bottom of this. >> what is your understanding of the policy changes that have most contributed to this delay? is it the removal of the sorting machines or boxes or over time issue? what is driving this? >> it's cumulative. you don't have over time and as you have a surge, the machines in fact we heard from one individual that said the processing machines that can do 80,000 or more sorts, they were told to stop after 40,000, not to process all of the mail. we've heard about trailers filled with mail that haven't been unloaded for a period of time, as well. really what it all boils down to and i've heard from letter carriers and mail handlers, these are incredibly professional people that want to move the mail as fast as they can and they have always in the postal service said the feeling was you never leave mail in the post office. you leave it out. whatever it takes you move it out. the
